Former special agent Cleo North thought she had sworn offf beaureaucracy forever-but the Air Force Office of Special Investigations has other ideas. They need her expertise and are willing to pay her extravagant fee. The case? An off-duty tanker pilot recently took a bullet under suspicious circumstances and wound up dead.
It doesn't take Cleo and MajJack Donovan from the OSI-along with some help from British Intelligence- discover the pilot wasinvolved in some questionable activities. But why was he so interested in the U.S. Air Corps that went down in the English Channel in 1943?
When another murder links a far-fetched story of wartime international intrigue to millions of dollars in gold, only one question remains: who is behind the ultimate cover-up? And could Cleo be the next bullets victim

I really enjoyed all 3 books in this trilogy. She did a great job connecting characters in these. This one is my fave I suppose not only for wrapping things up but for all I learned about WWII...sometimes a fiction book opens my eyes a bit and this one did that.
The third and final book in the Cleo North trilogy, well worth the time. I loved the whole trilogy, and this gave a satisfying conclusion.
