I absolutely love this series with Elvis Cole and Joe Pike. Gritty and entertaining but not without some humor. Robert Crais is quickly moving to the top of my "Authors I Love" list!!

It was almost impossible to put this book down. The characters' personal stress and the search for the kidnapper and missing child kept me in suspense from the very beginning. Crais knows how to involve the reader.

Elvis Cole is always a good read by Crais.
Anything by Robert Crais is Fantastic and this is one of his best ! An on the edge of your seat read .
Great character in the series - easy to get addicted to him! Enjoyable story - lots of action. Hard to put down when reading - always want to read one more chapter!
In my opoinion, not Crais' best work, but still a 3-star offering.

Delves into Elvis Cole's past and his time in Vietnam, providing much depth into the character. Quite a bit of violence in this one, although not gratuitous at all. Some good twists.

It become worse when her son is staying with Elvis while she is out of town on business. Ben, mysteriously disappears just minutes before she returns.

Many twists and turns involve international gorillas and Ben's natural father before the mystery is solved.

Crais at his best. We get to really know Elvis and Joe in this installment in the Cole series. Crais is such a good writer, you get wrapped up in the story and the characters. Can't wait to read the next one!!
