"Brilliant does not even begin to describe the Shaara gift. Thank Gods and Generals that it was passed from father to son."

If you ever wanted to get into a warrior's head, this is your book. It's like you were there with Grant, Lee, Chamberlin and the rest. It made me realize how lucky I am to have been born im 1942 rather than in time to be cannon fodder for fools(many of the generals).

First you read his father's book "The Killer Angels" then you read Jeff's book "Gods and Generals" and this book finishes the trilogy.

A sequel to The Killer Angels by the author's father, Michael Shaara. It follows Lee, Grant and Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain from just after the Battle of Gettysburg to the end of the Civil War.
