This is a great biography because it doesn't just tell the story of Aaron's life, beginning to present, it also interweaves a lot of social history which is extremely relevant to his experiences but which a lot of other biographies leave out. There's also a great chapter with an in-depth history of the Braves franchise, which is nice for Braves fans like me or anyone interested in historical baseball. Well-written and easy to read, even at over 600 pages, this is a great look at a man who overcame enormous challenges and became one of the greatest to ever play the game.
