I have read and enjoyed the whole Alan Gregory series but I was very disappointed in this one. I kept waiting for something to happen & I didn't feel it really did. Yes, there was suspense at the end but it didn't seem believable to me and Dr. Gregory's questioning seemed inappropriate. I was a little disappointed with the previous book in the series, I think it's possible the series may be over.

This was a good mystery. It lacked some of the strong sense of place I associate with White's novels, but a big part of that may simply be that Boulder itself is changing so rapidly and losing some of what makes it unique. Nonetheless, this was a good Alan Gregory novel and more engaging than some of the previous entries in the series. Recommended.
This book starts out slow, and (very) slowly builds momentum to an exciting ending. Sometimes Alan annoys me when he goes into his 'ethical dilemmas of a therapist' mode... there is a lot of that here. This book would have been 4 stars if an extra 100 pages were cut out.
