Intriguing mystery with a touch of other-worldliness. Great fun.

This was the most bizarre, eccentric, quirky novel---I couldn't put it down because..well, I don't know why. But I couldn't.

A journalist, about to retire from "the business", goes on a road trip with a famous actress for one last story. They get in a horrific accident and the actress goes missing. As time passes and the journalist begins to put her life back together, she begins to "communicate" with film actresses from the past (such as Tallulah Bankhead, Joan Crawford, etc.).
An easy read, this book incorporates mystery, humor, and visions of "old Hollywood". A terrific book for old film buffs (even has a filmography of important old movies like "The Thin Man" and "Citizen Kane").
