I rated this book 3 out of 5 stars. It was slow and hard to get interested at first. I couldnt put what I'd read in the prologue together with what I was reading in the book. I felt a disconnect. But it all came together at the end.
This is the story of an American woman married to an Italian man. They moved to Italy to his home after having a child and marrying. He is away on business more than he's home and she's raising the child alone. She suspects he isnt alone while traveling and is cheating on her but he tells her this is the way it is in Italy, get used to it.
The woman meets her new male American neighbor and they become friends. Friendship develops into more than friendship but with the Italian husband threatening her with taking her son away from her, she tells her new friend she must never see him again. Does it end there? It is a love story. Will it have a happy ever after ending?

This was a beautiful, touching love story, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The characters were realistic, and the writer has a great writing style. I would definitely recommend this book.
It is a story of a young American woman who marries an Italian man, moves to Italy, has his child and lives a very lonely life in a loveless marriage. She meets an American man and they become fast friends and soon fall in love.
The story is wonderful and you will find when you finish the book you wish it was not over and it would continue forever.

This was a rare read for me since there's no time for novels.
This book is a Italian travel guide, Cliff notes on Italian, and an unbelievable love story. It's emotional highs and lows affected me physically! Extremely well written and read. Since I didn't read the jacket, it was more emotional because I didn't know about the ending; happy or sad. 5 star in the opinion of this PG guy.

A love story with a underlying commentary on family and culture and how much we'll sacrifice for both. It was an interesting book but I found myself just continually wondering, "Do they end up together?"

This story was just wonderful. It was one that tightens the chest (if you have read a novel that is so moving you understand what I mean). I loved the ending and the middle and the beginning.
I enjoyed this book sooooo much, that I kept it a long time before deciding to part with it. Someone else should have a chance to enjoy it.

The author does an excellent job of spinning a tale of passion, love, joy and sorrow. Often I had a lump in my throat. If you like a romance, this is for you.
This was an excellent book. Excellent writing and characters. I didn't want to put it down.
The agony of choices between the love for a child and romantic love spices this book. Very engaging and senstitive, well-written.
Too sappy for my taste, defintely a 'chick' book.
I have not read this book yet, but if you want to swap I will make sure to put it aside to read.
