Another wonderful book in the series of stories about children in historical situations. This one is about Eliza Jackson, an 11-year-old slave girl on the run from a southern plantation. Contains pictures on every page, as well as historical information, songs, recipes and activities. Very useful and fun for homeschoolers. (also see Gold Rush Fever from this same series)

The story of Eliza, an escaped slave who followed a network of hiding places and forest trails, traveling north.
