I just finished reading this book and, unfortunately for members here, I wouldn't give it up for the world. It was a beautiful story. I would encourage everyone who enjoys a great book not to pass over this one. It's worth the wait, you will not be disappointed.

Nicholas Sparks has done it again. This is a wonderful read. A story of love, life, forgiveness and losing someone close to you. If you like his other books you will also enjoy this book.

I love Nicholas Sparks stories. But this one is exceptional, and I think it's probably my favorite of his now. The relationships, the characters and how they grow, the forgiveness and love they share. I just loved this story.

What a beautifully moving story. In my opinion, this is Sparks' best work in some time. Definitely one of his signature tearjerkers!

This book was another one of Nicolas Sparks classic tales of heartbreak. It was excellent! I really enjoyed this book even the sobbing at the end!

One of his best books written. I was so pleasently pleased to see how God was brought into the story and how His presense was manifested in the lives of the characters of this book. As always, there were lots of tears as I read the book, but also lots of profound moments that made me look at my own life. What a great book!!

I cried and cried the closer to the end I got! The book is soooo much better than the movie. Great first love story meets father/daughter saga! Mr. Sparks is one of my favorite authors! He got this one just right!

This is the only Nicholas Sparks book that I quit reading. I usually love his stories, but this one I couldn't get into it. I was about halfway and realized that I could care less about the characters or the storyline. A bit disappointing seeing as I've read, and enjoyed, everything that he has come out.

This a truly heart warming story about a broken family trying to find their way back. The two children are sent to spend the summer with their father who had left some time before. The summer provides an opportunity for the family to grow back together.

Another great book by Nicholas Sparks. I really connected with the emotions of the characters. You may need some kleenex toward the end.

I didn't know much about this book when I bought it and I hadn't seen the movie, so I didn't know what to expect. I loved this book though, it was very entertaining to me - I couldn't put it down. I would highly recommend it to others who enjoy Nicholas Sparks or other romance novels.

Veronica "Ronnie" Miller won't be eighteen until the end of the summer, so she has to follow her mom's rules and is off with her younger brother, Jonah, to spend the summer with her dad in a North Carolina beach town. Ronnie hasn't talked to her dad in over three years. He left New York City and their family and moved back to his hometown. Ronnie is rebellious and having been arrested for shoplifting back home, a quiet summer in North Carolina might be the best thing for her. At least that's what her mother thinks.

Ronnie arrives with the intention of ignoring her dad. On her first night there she wanders the beach and meets a girl, Blaze, who seems okay. But Blaze is addicted to Marcus, and Marcus is bad news. And Marcus is interested in Ronnie. Ronnie can tell Marcus is trouble and tries to avoid him. But the triangle will ultimately create problems.

On a brighter note, Jonah is totally content in North Carolina and with spending time with his father. He has no desire to return to New York City. Jonah has joined his father in creating a replacement stained glass window for a church that burned in town.

As the summer unfolds, Ronnie falls in love with a local boy, Will. She discovers the wonders of Loggerhead turtles. And she learns to trust her father all over again. As the summer comes to a close, more than one tragedy occurs, and Ronnie must face some hard truths in her life.

I have to admit that it's been a while since I truly loved one of Mr. Sparks' novels. Don't get me wrong, I do adore his work. But it's been ages since I sat down with one of his books and found myself with tears in my eyes. This was one of those rare stories. With about forty pages to go in the novel, I found myself with wet eyes and the sniffles.

THE LAST SONG is already in movie post production starring Miley Cyrus as the rebellious Ronnie. With the main character being a teenager, and with subplots of rebellion and first love, THE LAST SONG is a novel that will appeal to a wide audience: teens and adults alike. With the addition of Miley in the title role when the movie is released, THE LAST SONG will find even wider circulation.

As with all of Mr. Sparks' books, expect tears, joy, love, and ultimately redemption and forgiveness for many of the characters. The wonderful characters in THE LAST SONG will stay with you long after the final page is turned.

"Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alientated from her parents, especially her father...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church.
The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels--first love, love between parents and children -- that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that love can break our hearts...and heal them."... http://www.amazon.com/Last-Song-Nicholas-Sparks/dp/0446547565

This love story was up there along with The Notebook, and Message in a Bottle, so you better have your kleenex handy. Excellent story.

I saw the movie first and was intrigued enough to get the book. The book was better than the movie by far, and they followed pretty well until about the middle and the book deviated greatly or should I say the movie since the book was first? Typical Nicholas Sparks with young love, tragedy and some faith thrown in, but if you like that type of thing, this book is for you.

I have to admit that I was surpised that I really, really enjoyed this book. I'm a big Nicholas Sparks fan but didn't really think a teenage love story would appeal to someone over 50. Of course there's also more going on than just the love story but I enjoyed the entire book and storyline.

Again, Nicholas Sparks never disappoints his readers/fans. This is one of the best books I've ever read. I refuse to blow the storyline for anyone. It's an amazing story. The last 100 pages I didn't have dry eyes. It was a very touching story! Put this on your must read list... you won't regret reading it at all.

Yet another wonderful book by Nicholas Sparks. You will definitely need a box of tissues for this one...oh and some time, I couldn't put this one down. Very well written, wonderful story, flows very nicely. I felt like I was right there in North Caroling with everyone. I almost don't want to post this book, as I just received it for Christmas!

Unlike any other of Nicolas Sparks' book The Last Song is not just about love. It's about how a father and daughter reconnect after many years. It's also about learning how to forgive yourself for your past mistakes so you can move forward. Needless to say this was a tearjerker and emotional roller coaster.

I was wondering if this would be a typical Nicholas Sparks love story because the main characters are teenagers, it was wonderful. It's clean and pure and I absolutely love the parent child relationship. I loved it start to finish. (Except for the creepy guys who you aren't suppossed to like anyway:)
Really great read.

After reading some wonderful stories then a couple disappointing Sparks books, I was hesitant to try this one. I know he's capable of great stories but the 3 strikes you're out rule was close at hand. Luckily, this book was 3rd time the charm. The story had interesting characters and was a story I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Sparks fans will be happy with this one.

Nicholas Sparks is a powerful story teller and this is one of my favorites. The book lets the reader share in what the most important thing in life is, and that is, the building and growing of the relationship you have with other people. This book is an easy read and effects you for days afterwards. After finishing the last page I had to go find a quiet space to just let it flow over me. This is a must read!

I found the beginning of this story really slow, but towards the middle things start to speed up and I found myself unable to put the book down towards the end. The growth that the main character shows between the beginning and the ending is the best part of this book.

I don't think I have been disappointed in any of Nicholas Sparks' novels and this one is no exception. A story of a parent's love, first loves, teenage friendships and struggles. Several stories in one which I would recommend highly.

I tried to start reading this book about a week ago and I have already forgotten why I quit reading. That was how dry the story line was for me. I can't even remember what bothered me about it, but obviously it left a negative impression on me or I would have remembered it.

It's Nicholas Sparks; you're going to cry. He's soothing and healing. He knows the woman emotion better than we do ourselves. He's one of my favorite authors and I will continue to read his books until he writes his final song.
