I have enjoyed Karin slaughter's books but this one was really, suspenseful and sharp! It was a favorite one so far and anything else I say would be a spoiler!
This book is a nail biter! Will and Sara are challanged like never before. Sara is kidnapped and Will is beaten up and shot trying to stop it.
The story progresses and you are taken for the ride of your life as we meet a group of extremists where no one is safe. The race to find Sara and figure out what the crazies are planning is spine tingling and filled with anxiety and excitement.
This book is hard to put down. Another win for this author!

It's been a month since a scientist for the Centers for Disease Control was kidnapped from a mall parking lot. GBI Special Agent Will Trent and Dr. Sara Linton are visiting with her family when they hear an explosion which is centered near Emory University and two hospitals. Hurrying to the scene, Will and Sara end up in a dangerous situation. Sara is kidnapped by a group of Domestic Terrorists, and Will is left badly injured. Vowing to rescue Sara, Will works with his partner, Faith Mitchell, to discover who is behind the explosions and where they have taken Sara.
Wow! Karin Slaughter just keeps topping herself with each book in this series. We waited a long time for this book to come out, but it was definitely worth the wait. This story is told from alternating and overlapping points-of-view. Each chapter is told by either Sara, Will, or Faith, and we get to see what is happening from their perspective. Occasionally I found this a little confusing until I started checking the date and time at the beginning of each chapter.
This book deals with a lot of hot issues: pedophilia, domestic terrorism, and biological warfare. Just when you think you have it figured out, something new is thrown into the mix. The story also advances Will and Sara's relationship. There are some stellar scenes between the two of them, and also between Sara's mother and Will.
So, if you plan on reading this book, block out a large amount of time. You won't be able to put this one down. My rating: 5 Stars.

Has all the elements of a great story, supreme tension and suspense, builds to a tense climax, satisfying ending, and excellent storytelling in between. I love the characters of Will Trent and Sara Linton. Give us more!
Sara has been taken prisoner and Will is forced undercover, on a case in which thousands of lives are at stake. This book is too political for me and I think Slaughter needs to get back to the Will Trent and Sara Linton in a Grant County storyline that we all love. Slaughter is a great storyteller but we love to be entertained by by the exploits of Sara and Will's relationship instead of Neo-Nazi's, domestic terrorism and homebred militia which we get enough of on the nightly news. This is not the direction I was hoping this great series would take and I hope Slaughter can bring the next in the series back home to Grant County. I would recommend this book to those who like to read about political happenings in the world but if you want to read about Will and Sara in Grant County, then you will be as disappointed as I am.
