Unfortunately, this was a Gregory Maguire "miss" for me. I will try anything that he writes, and have enjoyed most of his other offereings. The book poorly retold classic fairy tales with bratty characters, and poor grammar that will be outdated as soon as new sayings are coined. I would not even read this to children. Not his best work in my opinion, but read it yourself to see, I got through it in about an hour.
While this is a unique and fun take on some of the old classic stories, it is much sillier than I expected after reading some of his other books. This is definitely one more for kids than adults.

Excellent set of fairy tales -- all with some sort of spin or change from the 'normal' fairy tales. Excellent for all ages! it was lots of fun to read . . . even as an adult.

Not as wicked as Wicket, will appeal to 10 year olds if anyone.
