I'm not usually a biography reader however I picked this book up as a freebie from another PBS member because I like Clay Aiken. It was one of the best books I've read this year. It's simple and just like he's talking to you one-on-one really. It had me crying in the first 6 chapters or so when he talks about his relationship with his dads. I could so relate. You think you know Clay from TV...you don't really know him...you will know him so much better after reading this book and learn a few things about yourself alone the way.

awesome story! He is a super person! I love his music and his story is very inspirational. He is a great person.
I honestly really enjoyed this book. I laughed, I cried, and parts of it made me really angry. It's written as if he was just speaking to you, telling you a story. If you're a fan, there's a lot more to discover behind the man that sings, and if you're not a fan, this book may just change your mind.

Clay writes about his life before and since his instant stardom on American Idol, how he has changed, and how he struggles to adapt to life in the public eye.

This was a very interesting book of Clays life. The first part was really fast paced. I'm glad I read it.

If you're a Clay Aiken fan you'll enjoy this quick to read memoir. His struggles with rejection and exclusion from his peers and his family make up the first portion of the book. He seems to have learned at a young age what is important to him and is consistently striving to stay on his true course. The book also includes some photos and a few favorite recipes. (I was raised in the south, but bean pie is a new one for me.)
Love American Idol. Love Clay Aiken. The book is ok! Easy read.

I absolutely loved this read. It isn't what you think it will be-{boring}---so not. It felt like such a good place to be when i was reading this. His life isn't what everyone thinks--so easy--and there is alot in these pages that you don't know about him. One of the best books i have read in awhile. Well worth the time.
