This book is the 3rd of a set of three about 3 friends who swear to support each other and never get married. 7 years later, two of the three have married and the third gets her romance. After reading this book, I don't feel like I need to read the first two. It makes good beach reading but not what I would call compelling. It seemed a little more unrealistic than many romance books, but still worth reading.

A very charming book about a lovely young girl unwittingly captured by a very unusual pirate, who is also a physician and an artist. Great plot.

A book for every bookworm who dreamed of adventure. This is part of a series (Brides trilogy) and is the story of Olivia. Situation is somewhat unbelievable but the writing is good. Jane Feather is a fav author and the relationships between all the 'brides' and their husbands is interesting.

I was so dissappointed in this book. I loved The Accidental Bride.I was so looking forward to this book but it ended up as a dud. The ending was so unrealistic.

This was my first Jane Feather book. So I haven't read the two prior to this one but every time Phoebe's story was mentioned I cringed because it all sounded very dirty (marrying your dead sister's husband who is also your best friend's father; talk about double yuck factor). But this was Olivia's story, the scholar. Her father worked for Parliament while her love interest, Anthony, was a pirate working to free the King against Parliament.

I enjoyed the book but I found parts of it a little boring. There was a lot of political plays and stuff. I kind of wished the story would hurry along. I thought too many of Anthony and Olivia's interludes ended poorly and it made me a little less excited to read about the next time they might meet up.

Anthony was nothing special. He was a fun character but there was something missing to make him sexy. Maybe because he was such a chameleon that I couldn't get a fix on the real Anthony, so he seemed quite abstract to me. The more interesting characters were actually Adam and Ellen (the people who saved and raised Anthony).

Olivia was a little frustrating because she didn't speak up very often when she had doubts. So in dealing with her first real adult relationship she had to overcome childhood molestation and all her fears about Anthony being a bad guy. Add that Anthony is working directly against her father too as mentioned above. It was a litte too much. There were just too many strikes against a relationship. And even though she was supposed to be a scholar, the role wasn't really significant to her character. For all that matter, she could have wanted to be a seamstress and the story would have been the same.

But it was entertaining and has pigued my interest enough to read more by Feather. I don't think I would really spend credits on her at this point. I still haven't decided if she would be a worthwhile writer.

Most disconcerting of all, when he turns his glittering eyes on her, he sees not the stammering, hopelessly bookish young girl Olivia has always been, but a passionate, beautiful woman who can, if she chooses, embark on the adventure and the love of a lifetime.

This story was not as interesting to me as the first two. I do not think I ever understood the heroine. She seemed a contradiction between her younger self and her adult self. I admit that I skipped through most of the text. Maybe, I just didn't like the sea story?

Novel in the Bride's Trilogy: Lady Olivia Granville is strolling across the sands of an island off the coast of England with her nose buried in a book when she plunges off the rocky cliff. When she regains consciousness she finds herself the prisoner of a pirate. The master of the Wind Dancer is both a physician and an artist in addition to making his living from the sea. She has embarked on the adventure and love of a lifetime.

In Feather's Brides trilogy, three unconventional young women vow never to marry, only--one by one--to be overtaken by destiny. Scholarly Olivia is most certainly THE LEAST LIKELY BRIDE.
