I bought this book based on a brief review in the Los Angeles Times and was disappointed in the writing and the story. I didn't find the main character, Mason Hunt, sympathetic or likable.
This is my first by this author and it will certainly not be my last. This was a refreshingly unique legal thriller. A close knit small town vibe, characters to root for (or loathe and root against). It's a tale of family, loyalty, and the gray areas that often make up decisions, life and the law with the consequences that occur. I fount it compelling and I didn't want to stop listening. I loved the narration, very well done!
This is one of the most engrossing books I have read in a long time. Once the characters were introduced, you did not want to put it down. Maybe because I know the places referenced in the book, but I was absolutely enthralled with it every page by page. Wow!
Martin Clark gets better with each book. This is his best to date. This is the story of a murder cover-up and family loyalty challenges.
