I am at such a loss for words right now. Lethal Rider was just so good! It was very reminiscent of the books in the Demonica series and I could not stop reading it. I seriously want Thanatos to be my baby daddy! Oh how sexy he is. And not only is he sexy, but he's protective and caring. Qualities you would not expect the Horseman of Death to have. But for real, this book was so good.
When I read Larissa's last book Immoral Rider, I found myself really drawn to Thanatos and Regan. There is just so much chemistry between the two of them. I was really looking forward to seeing how Larissa was going to be able to move forward with the two after the events that took place in Immortal Rider. Larissa did this book justice, because it was so good. Definitely my favorite in the series.
The story picks up eight months after the events of the previous book come to close. Regan is now eight months pregnant and carrying Thanatos' baby. The baby that both the Horseman and the Aegis believe will bring an end to the Apocalypse. Thanatos has spent the last eight months stewing. He's been poisoned with hellhound venom by his brother and sister and being held captive. He has spent the last eight months planning his revenge against Regan. He has no idea that she is pregnant though.
When he is finally able to break free and he goes off to find Regan he is in for the shock of his life. He can't believe that Regan is pregnant and that he's the father. Thanatos is still angry and Regan and feels completely betrayed by her, he still finds himself attracted to her. In all honesty, he's mostly upset that she lied to him and that he's not been able to be there for her for the last eight months. Thanatos has always secretly yearned for a family of his own and now that Regan is pregnant with his child, he is determined to make it happen. He just needs to make Regan realize that she wants it too.
Regan has spent the last eight months reliving the night she betrayed Thanatos. She can't get over how things went down and it makes her sick to think of how she forced Thanatos to have sex with her. On top of her feelings of misgivings, she is having seconds thoughts about giving up her baby. She believes that it's what is best for him because she would be a horrible parent. The closer she gets to giving birth the harder it is for her to think about letting him go. She has grown attached and she loves her baby. Regan grew up being moved from foster family to foster family and has always yearned for a stable family environment.
When Thanatos starts to take care of her and tries to convince her that giving up the baby is wrong, Regan doesn't really know what to think. More than anything she wants to keep her baby and raise it with Thanatos, but will he ever be able to forgive her if she can't forgive herself?
I really enjoyed this book and I felt that Regan and Thanatos were such a perfect match. I loved watching them interact with one another and them both realizes just how strong their feeling for the other were. Also, they both deserved their HEA. They both lived exceptionally hard lives and they both needed someone that would understand the hurt and pain that they've felt. Also, these two had some serious chemistry together. Not only did they have sparks but man did they have some hot scenes together.
All in all, I really liked this book. I felt that this book answered so many questions as well as tied everything together with the events that took place in the Demonica series. I loved that we were able to see how everyone was doing and what they've been up. I can't wait to see how Larissa is going to redeem Reseph, and show how he will deal with all the pain and destruction he's caused.

Admittedly, I haven't enjoyed the Lords of Deliverance series as much as the preceding Demonica series, but for some reason I really liked Lethal Rider. Perhaps it was because I had low expectations after Immortal Rider or because Regan was almost 9 months pregnant for 99.9% of the story so the focus was more on developing relationship than the angry sex I was expecting. Whatever it was, it defied my assumptions and I liked that. I don't think I've ever read a romance in which the kicka**s heroine was pregnant throughout. It made her interactions (well most of them anyway) with Thanatos sweeter than their relationship in the preceding books would lead you to believe. Also, I just felt like the plot was more streamlined and engaging than the last two books. It definitely flowed better and the detours into other characters' psyches and doings fit better into the romance and overall plot than they did in preceding books as well.
Now I'm just eager to get into Rogue Rider and the upcoming Reaver/ Harvester story. I wish a release date was already agreed upon for the latter, but alas, I fear I'll have to wait another year or so.

This is my favorite of the series, Than is a more emotional Horseman, more likable, even more vulnerable than his brothers and sister. After being drugged into a "one night stand" with Regan, he is held prisoner by his brother and sister so he won't explode and kill everyone. Regan thinks that she is doing everything she can to save the world, but as the time to deliver gets near, she has second thoughts. Than and Regan are a great couple, and with their journey, the series moves much more further towards the Apocalypse. Pestilence is putting his plan in motion to gain control of Earth and free all demons. But their are spies among both sides of the world, and the real demon in this saga is a total surprise. Only Reaver figures it out, and sacrifices himself for the Horseman. The Horseman side of the war takes crucial hits, the Aegis is torn apart, and UG has been seriously damaged. Lots of surprises in this one.....can't wait to read the next one.....looks like its Reseph's turn.

Immortal pregnancy. Good times. Lethal Rider worked much better than Immortal Rider. The romance gelled and was better setup at the start and the chemistry between the couple was hot and tense. There was some storyline weirdness (saga of the daywalkers - zzzzz) and the finale was wrapped up too easily and neatly but overall the book was worthwhile and fun to read.
Once again Larissa Ione saves an anticipated love scene for the end of the book and subsequently it feels somewhat stilted and truncated.

Good story it took a while to get into the meat of it. It bounced around a lot.
I really wish this publisher would hire a good proof reader. The errors in this book are very apparent.

Another keeper! I just love Ione's writing! Fast, sexy and fun reads. A perfect escape from a stressful day! Definitely rated NC-17.
My favorite of the series so far. Loved it!!! I really cant wait for the next one!
Pest is up to his games all through out this book. Regan is 8.5 months pregnant and for the whole time she was going to hand off the baby to Ky & Gem to raise and keep hidden but all that changed with Thanatos waking up early from the hellhound saliva that his brother and sister kept him in so he wont go anymore crazy angry, but as soon as he could thinks straight he found Regan rounded and kidnaps her to his castle. Then when he finds out it is his son he will talk her into giving the baby to him through out the book but also with Thanatos there Regan starts loving the baby and will break if she hands the baby to Ky & Gem. Thanatos will be on his toes after he finds out that is his son with everyone killing the baby including his staff of daywalkers that he happened to create in secret that his even hid from his siblings until Regan wanted to find a certain text where his past comes out. Regan is not safe from the only family she ever known the Aegis besides Ky, Decker and Arik, the rest are out to kill her and her baby and turn their true ways into what they want not what is traditionally what they were taught. Reaver makes a lot of appearances and he is the one who finds out the bad angel is not the fallen Harvester but one he trusted.
