This book basically consists of accounts of groupies, from the cute to the disgusting. Pamela has a few (and a section about how Penny Lane from "Almost Famous" was about her) I loved Cassadra Peterson's- aka Elvira's- accounts the most. She was just young and teased the musicians just so she could be around them. It's crazy to read about how she made out and ran on Jimmy Page, Jimmy Hendrix, etc. then eventually lost her virginity to Tom Jones(!!!) Some of the later accounts are just depressing, as one girl who runs a website that is just photos of "famous musicians" penis's talks about her creepy hobby and how she had sex in a dirty basement with a skanky member of one of the worst bands ever, Dope. It's worth checking out (mainly for the stories about Elvira and a male groupie) but otherwise I just can't say it's worth the $25 unless you're a huge fan of the author.

I really enjoyed the first half of this book, and my interest kind of fizzled out by the second half. It wasn't that the writing wasn't just as good, but as the book moves on, she moves to lesser-known groupies of lesser-known bands, and unless you REALLY know music, it's just not as interesting as hearing about Elvira losing her virginity to Tom Jones or the woman who taught Elvis his famous moves. A great, often funny, and juicy read for music buffs, however! I enjoyed it, and will look for her other books.
