This engrossing saga of rejection, love, forgiveness and redemption is a very entertaining and thought-provoking read. Well-written and satisfying. I enjoyed this book very much and it's insights into the Amish way of live were fascinating.

I LOVED this book. It's a waonderful tale about a man excommunicated from his strict Amish upbringing and his lifelong attempt to get back in his father's good graces. At the same time he slowly realizes that his relationship with his father has reached further than he thought and has left a possibly irreversible mark on his relationship with is own son.

Levi's Will is an incredible book about a young man who runs away from his responsibility and the consequences. Unfortunately, he carries away with him, guilt, bitterness and deception.
Amish life is nicely represented reminding us that these people are human beings with real lives. This book is not your typical romantic Amish story. It is honest and extremely well written. Truly worth reading.

I loved this book! Great story, view into life of the Amish and those that leave the order. Sensitively and kindly done in respect to the cultures and values.

This book is amazing!! It is Amish based, but nothing like you've read concerning the Amish before. This book deals with a "fence jumper" who travels through the life of an "Englisher" and then has his own family before attempting to mend the fences that he jumped in his youth.
Great read, good values, and a wonderful lesson for all of us!

Dusk. A barn lot on an Amish farm in Ohio. Will's father doesn't recognize him at first-it's been eight years-so he holds a match up to Will's face to see him better. "I thought you were dead," Levi Mullet says flatly, then blows out the match and walks away. No hug. No party. This is not how it's supposed to be. Where's the fatted calf, the celebration?
Living in the Deep South, Will has raised a family of his own. But the heart of a prodigal is never far from home. For years he's worked-the only ethic Will understands-to overcome the unrelenting jugementalism, the ban, of his father and the Old Order Amish, while a festering resentment takes its toll on his wife and children. Only when the life of Will's youngest son hangs in the balance does he begin to understand the truth-that love is the proof of God, and forgiveness is the proof of love.
Levi's Will is the haunting story of a fallen man seeking to reconcile the best of the old world with the lessons of the new, in the process building a bridge across three generations.

Really good story.
If you like reading Amish books you will love this one. A man shunned for leaving the faith tries to reunite with his father.
The story of Will - shunned from his Amish family when he chose to run away - is a very good story. I enjoyed the characters and direction the story took. However .... The STYLE of the story was difficult for me to follow. Each chapter jumped between Will's memories of his past, then back to his present day. I guess it bounced back and forth too often for my preference.
But the story itself is reflective, shows regrets, but most importantly, redemption.
Would recommend if you do not get confused jumping back and forth in time!

This is a great book. It's about an Amish family that spans generations and is ultimately, about love and forgiveness in a different setting.
Wonderfully written book. Couldn't put it down!
Excellent story about a boy who flees from the Amish way of life after being shunned.
Not totally focused only on Amish, though, good story about life in and out of Amish ways.
REcommend

This is an excellent story of how a young man's life becomes a lie when he runs away from his home in the Old Amish Order. He has much to learn & lots of difficulties to face. When I get a new book I always look in the back to see if there is a note to the reader. In the book, the author in his acknowledgements says that the main story of the book is based on his parents lives. This made the book much more meaningful to me & gave me an inside look into the Old Order Amish & how our early lives affect so much of what we do & become as adults but God is bigger than our heritage & can change a person's heart & life, as you will read in the book.
GREAT READ
