An intersting book that makes you think and laugh at the same time.

Even though some of the material is outdated, it is still funny. I really enjoy Erma Bombeck's sense of humor in her books. The last chapter is touching and tear jerking though ... as your kids grow up and your parents grow old (young entering their 2nd childhood).

This book of Erma's gave me hope to get through mid motherhood, my 4 teenagers were bouncing from every angle to drive me crazier every day. I read this book and found some peace for the rough patches, and laughter instead of the tears I was shedding all the time. So wonderful not to feel that I was the reason for any failure for my kid's lives! "Mike and the Grass" was my favorite vignette to open my heart and let peace funnel in. It helped me through my Empty-Nest Syndrome as the kids went off to adulthood one by one.
Great job, Erma!

dirty cover, but book intact
This is not one of my favorite books by Erma Bombeck, but still fun to read.

The enchanting lady of laughter has done it again -- this time taking a hilarious swipe at husbands, honeymoons, tennis elbow, marriage, lettuce, the national anthem, and a host of other domestic dilemmas.

Erma Bombeck was, hands down, the funniest humorist of her time. Even today, her work is still some of the best ever written.
This book is a combination of a collection of her column writings, mixed in with some new (at the time) observings. Her reflection of husbands, kids, friends, and her own sanity (or lack thereof) will have you rolling on the floor with laughter (or, at least, giggling fairly loudly).
A great book to add to your collection.

This title should be If Life is a Bowl of Cherries What am I Doing In the Pits - which explains the tenor of this volume. Beloved, now classic humor writer Bombeck hits the nail on the head and on the funny bone again.
It's been used but it's in good condition.
