If I could give this book 6 stars I would. After going through the horrors of WWII a young Polish Mennonite woman because of her family's German background and her religion found herself in the untennable position of being considered an enemy by several different groups. She made an epic trek by foot without supplies uncounted long miles from Poland to help on the Atlantic coast. This book is divided into four sections: 1. A look at the situation from a historian; 2. Edna's own story in her own words as taken down by this historian; 3. Actual photos; 4. Relevant documents.
