I need to tell you I won this book from goodreads, and I'm really happy I did.
Kristin Harmel has written a story that gave me goosebumps and I couldn't put it down. Kate Waithman, a musical therapist, has been widowed for twelve years when the story begins, and she is newly engaged to a successful businessman when she begins to have very vivid dreams of Patrick, her first husband. In these dreams she experiences what her life would have been like if Patrick hadn't been killed in a car crash. She finds her dream self to be her current age (40), and Patrick has aged also, and she now has a hard of hearing daughter Hannah.
Because of the dreams, she reevaluates her current relationship with Dan, her fiance, and begins to learn ASL and treat hard of hearing children using her music.
Kate has never been able to truly live in the present after Patrick's death, and the book had me on edge as Kristin has Kate really look at her life and forces her to make decisions as to what she needs to do with her life. I really enjoyed the book, and am now going to find her first book too!
