Not one of her best books. Robson's niche has been to concentrate on fictionalized biographies of Native American women (frequently close relatives of historical figures), but this one focuses on Osceola of the Seminoles. There are well-developed female characters, but they are not center stage. The story drags and reaches its ultimately depressing conclusion with Osceola's imprisonment and death.
