Very good book!! This is part of a series, but can stand alone with no loss of understanding. I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed this book AND the series. If you like Civil War era stories, this is definitely for you.

Wonderful book, the Civil War seen through a slave's eyes. I was surprised how enthralled I was by this book!

Excellent end to a series. I always enjoy a Lynn Austin book. Would highly recommend the whole series of three books.

The third in the Refiner's Light Series . Another wonderful book from Lynn Austin. This is from the slave's perspective. I really hated to see this series end. Highly recommended!
