A Newberry Honor Book.
I am collecting books for when I have grandkids. I got this one at a thrift store and read it because I'm fascinated by lighthouses and their keepers. I had no idea what a delightful story it would turn out to be. It actually had a beautiful Christian message in it. I was so surprised....completely loved it!
This is a Christmas story and part of the Sonlight reading list. Ronnie and his aunt tend the Tern Rock lighthouse for 2 weeks in Decemeber. Ronnie explores the lighthouse with the winding staircase, but the keeper doesn't return. Meanwhile, Ronnie learns a lot about giving and promises.
It's a beautiful story that is sure to warm up that one spot in your heart, where you really need it. Such a simple writing that will leave you with a smile afterwards. I enjoyed it greatly.
This story is a Christmas tradition in our home.
We all enjoy hearing it every year!
A story to make everyone appreciate what really matters at Christmas.
