I loved this book but I'm a bit biased as I'm a huge animal lover and animal stories. It's a wonderful story of love and respect and knowing when to let go.

I just happened to look over and see this book on a shelf at the library as I was walking past it. It was a good, quick read and something totally different than what I usually read. I loved reading about all of Christian's antics and knowing he finally was where he was meant to be.

This books gives a detailed background to what you see in the Youtube video although the book was actually written before the video. The book now has a new intro included to address the Youtube popularity. It was an interesting read and I finished it in about 3 days.

A short book in terms of word count, but very readable. The style is explanatory and doesn't cause the emotional reaction the YouTube video managed to evoke.

Little gem about a lion purchased in Harrod's department store and eventually returned to Africa. Christian warmed to humans quite well and became a London sensation. His "owners" decided he needed a normal lion life.
Books like this always leave me a little sad. Although I am ecstatic that he was returned to the wild, I found myself wishing that I knew that Christian lived a long lion life. (I'm a sap--what can I say).
Some of the events that happen to the humans that live in the wilderness park are quite sad and I was alarmed to learn that the number of lions has actually decreased since the 1970s, when this book was originally written. I hope that the interest in Christian's story results in greater protection and interest in these marvelous animals.

Beautiful true story, i always hate to see a wild animal held in captivity, but this was necessary and the story is endearing. I cryed and cryed at the end.If laughing and crying is good for the hormones, then after i finished this read i figure i should be pretty healthy, i did alot of both. What an experience to of had with Christian the loveable lion.

A very heart warming story of 2 London boys who buy a tiny lion cub and raise it in London. As Christian gets years older and larger and more hard to handle they decide to see if they can return him to the wilds of Africa.
