Extremely teenage language, I could've done without the swearing...it just seemed to me like Dean was just playing stereotype that teenagers just think about sex 24/7 and that we all swear like sailors. Also, c'mon the restroom airplane scene...HELLO! Who is going to lose their virginity to someone they've only known for like and hour at most?! I didn't think it was realistically written. I gave it a one and a half b/c it does have a few interesting scenes in it...such as at the dance that DO show that awkward out of your element feeling that IS true to life. Eh, I don't highly recommend.

My daughter said that this book was as good if not better than the Gossip Girls series. It is much like the Gossip Girls, only it is set at the beach. This book is DEFINATELY for older teens....as in it has language, sex, drugs, alchohol...definately not for younger teens.

Cute, in a celebrity trash type of way. Easy read. I enjoyed it.

Addicting story about the fabulous lives of Beverly Hills.. great story and the first of the series. If you read this one you'll want to read all the others too!

Ok, I have read all the all the teen series (A-List, Private, It Girl, Gossip Girl, Summer Boys, ect.) as they were coming out, and I can honestly say, that the A-List is one of the better ones. It's probably the second best out of all the series I've read. ALL of the characters are interesting and you want to read about them, instead of skipping over the paragraphs about them, which is something I often want to do with some of the other series. This series stays consistent also. If you liked this book, you will like the rest of the series. None of the books fall short. This book does have mature content, but I wouldn't really worry about a 13 or 14 year old reading this, because chances are they've already been exposed to all of these words, ect. at middle school/high school, IMO.
