This book drew me in from the first chapter... I really enjoyed it! I don't have kids, so I don't agree that you need to in order to love this book. The characters are loveable, flaws and all and J.W. manages to develop their characters and lives without going overboard and making you feel bogged down in the details.
Helpful Score: 7
Really enjoyed this book. Just getting back into reading now that my kids are 2 and 4 years old and I could relate to so much in these stories. Never lost focus or interest and was sorry when it ended!
Helpful Score: 6
Not what I expected, but very good. The book has little twists and turns in the plot and it was hard to put down. Not Chick Lit where every one is single and dating, but more grown up. These are smart married women dealing with love, sex, and child birth and babies. Plus jobs, losses and life. Something that really spoke to me, as I am beyond the "sex in the city" life style and this book is like that too.
Helpful Score: 5
I loved this book. I read in two days. My sister-in-law read it right after I did and she finished it in two days as well. Could not put it down. Definetly two thumbs up from me on this one! I actually wished it was longer. I'm not a mother and I still loved the book.

AMAZING book!!! Loved the characters! Loved the story! It was great that Weiner wrote from the POV of several of the characters. It made it a very full story. It all seemed very realistic. But I have to say that it really made me want to have a baby! Talk about getting my biological clock ticking!!

I really enjoyed this book. Great friendship, mother and wife relationships. I thought the auther kept me intrigued, while not bogging down to much in the stories.

Wonderful! A really honest, funny story about unlikely girlfriends and their husbands and families. Characters are easy to relate to and sweep you along with them. I absolutely recommend this book!

This is chick-lit that I'll never outgrow. I love Weiner's style and her books feel like old friends, including this one.
Helpful Score: 3
I read this book shortly after I had my daughter. I totally could understand and feel what the characters were feeling. I laughed out loud so many times with the characters. I think anyone woman who feels like they don't have the perfect size 0 body, has small children, and some great friends would really love this book. Jennifer Weiner is a great author and writes from her heart which such a wonderful sense of humor. I hope someone else will enjoy this book as much as I did!

Not my favorite book by her. This one is not so universal: You kind of have to be a mother to appreciate its nuances. I'm not so I didn't find it very compelling.
Helpful Score: 3
This is, by far, my favorite of Weiner's books so far. The group of friends was so real to me that I felt like I was right there with them, going through the same growing pains.

Jennifer Weiner again captured that "something" about being a new mom. It was a great read and entertaining. And yep! It made me tear up.
Helpful Score: 2
Four women become friends while facing various issues that come up in their lives due to their pregnancies. I don't have children, but I still loved this book. I was cheering for each of the characters the whole way through! Weiner has an amazing gift for creating well-rounded, synpathetic characters and following their stories through to each resolution. A fantastic book!
Helpful Score: 2
This is by far Jennifer Weiner's best book. I thought that 'Good in Bed' was fairly good, but I did not care for 'In Her Shoes'. I was hesitant to read 'Little Earthquakes' but am so glad that I did. I found myself unable to put it down!

Talk about patchwork quilt! I loved how Lia takes you on a journey with these separate women going through their own "little earthquakes" yet weaves them together getting you completely and utterly invested in their lives. I love Lia and want to give her a hug too!!!

This should be REQUIRED reading for women thinking about getting pregnant. This book is fun but tells you how it really changes your life to be a mom. Many parts of this book came straight out of my life with my baby...I laughed a lot.

Really good book. My first introduction to Jennifer Weiner's books, and I was pretty pleased. Tells the story of four women who's lives collide as if by fate. Each woman goes through a different life crisis (or two) and is helped by one or more in the group. Cute story. Not a bad weekend read.
Helpful Score: 2
I really enjoyed this book and found it too be an interesting read. It was the first book by Jennifer Weiner I ever read and it made me a fan!!!

A very real look at the pregnancy and life after birth! Weiner entwines 4 women's lives all based on their pregnancies. She really does a wonderful job!

I loved this book.....it's a great read!

This was a cute book all about babies. It was entertaining and a pretty fast/light read. I still think that her first book was her best (it was at certainly the one that I enjoyed the most!). Still I will continue to read her books for the chick lit escapist books that they are.
Truly, my major complaint about this was more about how poorly she was able to stick the the P.O.V. her chapter headings indicated.

Excellent! The entwined story of 4 young mothers. The four each experience the joy of pregnancy and then each their own form of tragedy.
Even though I dont have kids this book is so well written you can feel for all the women.

I loved this book! It had me laughing, crying and really identifying with the characters. I love the way J. Weiner writes.

The best part of this book is that it deals more with what "real" life is like as a new mom. Very good story. I've never read any of her books before, but I'll be looking into them now.
Helpful Score: 1
I am not a mom, but I really loved this book. I think just being a woman makes you understand what it's like to feel judged and watched. And also to feel like you have all these emotions and insecurities that you have to control because you have to be strong for your family. I think Weiner accurately captures that in this book. This was the first of her books that I read, and it is still in my top three of her works. Certain Girls and Good in Bed are the other two.

Love this book! Great story and I really got into it!
Helpful Score: 1
Second Weiner book I've read (after Good in Bed). Somewhat entertaining, though it seemed like Weiner was making an effort to fit each character into a stereotype. It seemed a bit unbelievable that each woman would find herself facing a personal challenge in a relationship, and each one would be able to emerge victoriously...wrapped up a little too tidily, I thought. Characters in Good in Bed had more depth.
Helpful Score: 1
I loved this book because I read it at the perfect time of my life. I just had my first baby about 3 months before I read the book. I could totally relate to so many aspects of the book. It gave me some much needed laughs and stress relief. I love that it gave the stories of these new mothers without judgements about how any of them were deciding to raise their babies. As a new mother, all I get is advice and I appreciate it all and need most of it; however, it's nice to read about other peoples ideas without any pressure to enforce it in my own life. I love that not all the male characters were useless and ridiculous. I have a wonderful husband and that was just one more reason I liked the story. No need to bash men in every chick novel.
5 stars and I will definitely read this book again!

I've been a Jennifer Weiner fan for quite awhile. I could hardly put down her other work: "Good in Bed," but I felt a little differently towards "Little Earthquakes."
I liked the book for sure. An insightful and heartwarming tale of friendship and motherhood, "Little Earthquakes" is a must for Weiner fans and new or soon-to-be moms alike.
My reson for the three star rating is simply how long it took me to become engaged with the characters. I was halfway through the book before I actually started to care about the women and their children. I really can't put a label on this except that it just took me that long to become engaged in the story.
I considered putting it down for awhile, but being the stubborn book-reader that I am, I plowed on and was glad I did. I can't explain what the turning point for me in the story was. The fact is, I don't really know. All of a sudden however, I was no longer bored and wanted to get through to the end of the book.
I did feel a little robbed at the end though. For me the book ended very abruptly and it was kind of a letdown after I'd worked so hard to invest my emotions in the characters. It was almost like Weiner ran out of time/ideas and simply stopped writing. It was kind of annoying actually.
So, I'll definitely pick up another Jen Weiner book. Will I be doing it tomorrow? Nah. I'll still be recovering from my letdown.

I listened to the audio version on long trips and found this book to be very engaging. The characters are well developed and Weiner tells a great story about friendship and motherhood.
Helpful Score: 1
Little Earthquakes is perfect for the new mom or a mom with young children. The characters are stereotypical, but the book captures the experience of many professional, married women trying to balance their "old" lives with the addition of a baby. The relationships the new mothers have with their own mothers adds interest to the story, but only one character seems to have a good relationship with her mom--and that relationship is not well-developed. The most interesting character in the book is Lia, who is struggling to gain control of her life after a major loss.

Jennifer Weiner is one of the BEST authors. This is a story about 4 women who meet & become fast friends. We follow their lives thru heartache, & happiness. Three of the women are pregnant & have babies. They try to balance their life with motherhood. Highly recommend this one.

Super good book! I just finished it (then realized I had 2 copies). It had so many things that I have done or felt myself with being a new mom. Defintely a good read!

Jennifer Weiner is fast becoming one of my favorite authors of so called Chick Lit. Her writing is funny, witty, tender and heartbreaking. Her books tend to be slices of life we can all relate to. Frequent glimpses of yourself, or someone you know makes you care about all her characters. And her books usually have a happy ending
Little Earthquakes explores first time motherhood as seen through the eyes of 4 unlikely friends as they discover that having it all: motherhood, jobs, husbands and a life is a daunting task. Much of the issues explored are those you never read about in those What to Expect books, or see on A Baby Story.
I have minor complaints, mostly about the male characters, which all seemed a bit weak. Other than that I enjoyed this book; I laughed, cried and look forward to more books by Ms. Weiner.

Weiner's well-developed characters and (mostly) recognizable situations lift this above the typical "three women in transition" stories. Anyone who has ever had a baby will recognize many of the trials and tribulations her characters endure.

This is the third book written by Jennifer Weiner that I have read. It grabbed me from the very beginning and wouldn't let me go. I found that the situations were very life like and I found myself identifying with one of the characters specifically and my girlfriends in a few of the others ... which made the story seem so plausible. The book really made you stop and think that there are "little earthquakes" that happen to every single one of us in life that causes shake ups and it's how we deal with them that determine our future ...

I enjoyed this book...especially being a Mom to three small kiddos. This is the second book I've read from this author and didn't enjoy it as much as I did In Her Shoes. However, it is a fun and quick read.

Chick lit for the new mommy set. It was an ok read, I just didn't really identify with the characters, not being a new mommy myself (or anywhere near it!)

well, this wasn't my favorite by J.W. but it was quite all right. Probably more interesting to those who are having a baby? I just felt like a lot of it was anecdotal stuff about the trials and tribulations of new motherhood; I felt like I was reading the author's new-mother diary, not a work of fiction!
not for the queasy. lots of talk of breast pumps and not much juicy, gossipy chick lit in this one.

The story of a group of friends that are going through different events in their life. I liked that some of the story centered on some women becoming mothers. Love her style of writing.
Awesome! This one was so touching to read during my pregnancy. made me feel like i had "girlfriends" to share the experience with. Funny!
What a wonderful book! I couldn't get enough.
A friend loaned me this book when we were both pregnant, and I devoured it like pickles and ice cream. No, seriously. Weiner writes believable women characters better than just about anyone out there today, and this story following four women through the journey of becoming first-time moms is a must-have for any mother. It made me laugh as often as it made me cry, and I can't blame either on the hormones. Buy it, read it, and share it with your girlfriends.
Jennifer Weiner does not dissapoint.
This book is funny and very entertaining - an easy, quick read. Weiner makes you feel like you know the characters and you are one of the girls. YOu are happy for them and feel their pain. Would be a great gift for anyone expecting a baby or has a little one. I loved it!
I enjoyed this book. It is a good read for married women and mothers.
Slighyly perdictable, but a fun read.
I really enjoyed this book.
This book was just wonderful. What a great summer read! Super for expecting or new mom's also!!
This is another great and fun read by Jennifer Weiner!
I LOVED this book. I completed it in one weekend!
I like her stories
Hands down my favorite of Jennifer Weiner's!! Page turner, finished it in two days.
I really liked this book. I have enjoyed the other books I have read by her. This one was a bit deeper. Still very fun and "laugh-out-loud" funny at times.
I absolutely love Jennifer Weiner's style of writing and I think this book is the best I've read so far. This book focuses on the lives and relationships between three new mothers and one mother that's recently lost her child. Ms. Weiner's character development is so true-to-life and I think any mother could identify with at least one of the characters, if not all four. I laughed out loud several times and there were times I had to get the kleenex.
This book was so.... REAL. First time motherhood during the first year was depicted in 4 different characters in this story, and each story held elements that sent me back to those first suprises, and those first tedious, joyful, difficult, exciting, dull moments. Greatly written story, but I found it difficult to read because of the emotions it dragged out of me.
Becky is a plump, sexy chef who has a wonderful husband and baby girl, a restaurant that's received a citywide acclaim - and the mother-in-law from hell. Kelly is an event planner who's struggling to balance work and motherhood while dealing with an unemployed husband who seems content to channel-surf for eight hours a day. Ayinde's basketball superstar husband breaks her trust at her most vulnerable moment, putting their new family even more in the public eye. Then there's Lia, Philadelphia native who has left her husband, and a tragic secret to start her life all over again.
Loved this book. I had a hard time putting it down
Loved It!
Not the best Jennifer Weiner book, but still good.
I loved this book. I can't wait to read more Jennifer Weiner books. I just all the situations, etc. really hit home with me. A must read for any mommy!
good book. love the author
Just as good as In Her Shoes, but maybe better. I found that each time it went back to a certain characters story I couldn't wait to finish it.
Very funny and serious look at first time motherhood. A good read.
This is a great book. A glimpse into what motherhood really is and how there is so much to deal with. I loved how each of the characters dealt with their problems. I was able to connect with bits of each of them from my own experiences.
Moved a bit slowly for my taste, but still a good read.
Strong friendships develop between the characters and they stick by one another throughout each heartbreak and through each joy.

I enjoyed this book. It was a fun story about new moms. It would be a great book to take with you on vacation!
GREAT character study of 4 unique women with intersecting lives. I read this in one long night because I couldn't find a good place to stop! There is something in each character that any woman can relate to - and a man could learn from!
Really enjoyed this book. It's about 4 woman from totally different lives that find that they have a lot in common. I found that it was a page turner.
Good book
Great book especially for first time moms... You'll find yourself relating to not only one character. Very interesting yet realistic characters. I hope they're developing this into a movie now... It'll be a fun piece to see on screen!
great book...I love Jennifer Weiner to begin with, and began reading this early in my first pregnancy to get a break from all the how-to books for a while & it did the trick!
This was a good book but a little disappointing. I'd heard so much about this author that I guess I expected too much. But I did enjoy it.
I really really liked this book. It was my second Jennifer Weiner book, and I loved it. She is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine.
Once again, Jennifer Weiner doesn't disappoint! I laughed out loud, and yes, I cried. I loved it!
This would be a good book for young mothers or new mothers to read, I enjoyed it even though I am an older mother.
My favorite book from this author!
great book. Not as goog as "Goog in Bed", but was enjoyable.
A fanstastic super read. If you liked Good In Bed, you'll love Little Earthquakes. Chick Lit at its best.
WOW!!!! Wonderful book & so real life!! Your life isn't always sunshine & roses.....there are little earthquakes everywhere waiting for you!
I love the way Jennifer Weiner writes !! This is a great, fun, and at times even heartwrenching read. Hilarious one minute and sad the next. I read Good in Bed and In Her Shoes and this one is just as good if not better than the rest.
What a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the characters and loved the chaper by chapter look into each character
I think this is a great book for expecting or new mothers.
I think this is a really cute book. It was a my first book I read after my baby was born so I could relate to some. It's kinda like a PG rated Sex in the City, about 4 women and friendship and life. A good read!
I loved this book. My first by Jennifer, but I'll be ordering the others. A great gift book for new moms!!!
This book will make you laugh, cry and cheer.

Great book funny and sad. About 4 women you work and have become new mothers
This is the story of three very different women as they go through new motherhood. They meet in a prenatal yoga class and become friends. One has a famous husband, one has an unemployed husband who watches TV all day, and one has a mother-in-law from hell. It's a good book, even enjoyable if you don't have a baby or toddler!
Really cool, lovable characters, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Probably my favorite book by this author.
This is a great story about several young women leading very different lives, and how becoming a mother changes their lives all in different ways. It takes place mainly in Philadelphia. It is an excellent book, very moving but also very funny at times.
Loved it!
I liked this book, somewhat realistic yet still fantasy at time. I enjoyed 'Good in Bed' more than this...
Very enjoyable novel(Chick Lit) about new mothers; their tragedies as well as triumphs. Weiner wrote the book that was the basis for the movie "In Her Shoes."
Not for someone who is suffering from infertility.
Great read especially for moms to be, new moms or anyone with a mom!
Enjoyable read as are all of Weiner's books.
This is an awesome read!
Another great Jennifer Weiner book!
Good read.
Weiner's book tells the story of three very different women as they navigate one of life's most wonderful and perilous transitions: the journey of new motherhood. From penatal yoga to postbirth sex, Little Earthquakes is frank, funny, and fiercely perceptive.
Very cutesy book about the troubles of motherhood.
Heartwarming book about 4 women, their marraiges, their pregnancies, and early motherhood.
not as good as "good in bed"... but better than "in her shoes"...
Hilarious look at motherhood! I'm a new mom and loved it. Fast read, and not quite as good as some of her earlier books.
Four friends, new motherhood, relationships... Completely relatable. If you're a mother, you will find yourself nodding your head, laughing and saying "I know how that is!"
Really an interesting book!
Really good book; a must read for new moms who are struggling with what everyone else says should come naturally!

A swift chick lit read.
I have read all of Jennifer Weiner's books (Good In Bed, In Her Shoes and Little Earthquakes). This one would be my favorite with Good in Bed next. I don't have the other two though, I read them from the library. This is a really good book. Highly recommended!

Well written 'chick-lit" - tells the story of four women in Philadelphia that become friends while pregnant and the issues they face.
Good story.
Certainly a women's novel, this book was simply incredible. It's a story of mothers, daughters, and daughters-in-law, and how they manage to surive the first year of their childrens' lives.
I adored this book it was a as good if not better than her previous 2, Good in Bed and In her shoes.
I loved good in Bed but this latest read isn't at the same level. Still it is a light read about four friends navigating the course of new motherhood and it is entertaining,
a good read, drama, comedy, friendship & life.
I just finished this book and I loved it! It was a great story about friendship and motherhood!
I loved this book! It started off a little slow, and I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but I became so attached to the characters. It was hard to put down.
Loved this book. Made me laugh and cry at the same time. Absolutely loved it!!
I enjoyed this book alot. I am sure any married couple can relate to this story
Another great one from Jennifer
Once again she has written an awesome novel

Good mindless read.
I love her books, and this is the best one I've read yet!
Funny, moving, a great read.
Very enjoyable and real.
This was a very enjoyable book with likable characters in very real situations. Great insight into the lives and minds of new mothers in rather privileged situations.
Great read for those of us who can remember what life was like as a first-time mom. Well written, but not quite as sassy as "In Her Shoes" or "Good In Bed" - my favorite of Weiner's books.
funny and comferting to new or older moms.
Loved it. It is even more special if your a mother. truly heartfelt. I had tears in my eyes many times..
Good read. Kept me interested.
Not my usual genre, but a good story. It definitely reinforced my decision not to have children!!! :)
My wife enjoyed her other books more, but she still read this one all the way through, which for her, is something.
great book
Funny, quick read. Anyone who ever had a baby or is thinking about having a baby would really enjoy this.
A quick summer read that was very enjoyable. If you like any of her other books, you'll probably like this one.
I love all of Jennifer Weiners books and this was no exception. I enjoyed this journey into motherhood.
Great story about becoming a mother for the first time and how it bonds four friends.
I liked reading this story of friendship and marriage. Great characters each had a story to tell in their own words.
Jennifer Weiner is on her way to becoming a great author. I have read all her books thus far and have not been disappointed.
Jennifer Weiner is my favorite. Almost as good as Good in Bed.
Great Book! I love Jennifer Weiner.
A great story...will make you laugh and cry. Being a new mother, I could really relate to the characters. But, I think it will bring back great memories of pregnancy and new motherhood for all you experienced moms, too.
another great Weiner read!
A great read in typical Jennifer Weiner style.
Nice light read about new mothers and new friendships. I could relate to the feelings of the new mothers and recall how it was when I had my child.
A good read, especially for anyone who is a mom or has a mom.
three very different women navigate one of life's most wonderful and perlious transitions:the journey of new motherhood.
This is a good "beach read."
I enjoyed this book. I like the easy writing style adn find this a good break from some of the heavier novels. This is about a bunch of new mothers and their journeys into motherhood, as well as what happens in their marriages.
I've never read any of Jennifer Weiner's books before but picked this up after hearing a girlfriend rave over it. I couldn't put it down! As a mother, I could relate to each mother in the book in a different way. This is one book I'd recommend over and over!
This was an AWESOME book. I loved the characters, and their experiences as pregnant women, then new mamas was just spot on!
After In her shoes and good in bed, I was a little dissapointed. However; an easy read, and better then a lot of "chic lit".
I loved this book as a new mom, though it did make me cry.
An enjoyable read with a focus on friendship among four women.
The humor in the title shows throughout the book. Fun to read.
Great book. Would definitely recommend. I've read almost all of her books and look forward to the new one.
AWESOME as always
Not my fave Jennifer Weiner...maybe it's because I don't have kids!
I really enjoyed this story, although I found myself angry with Becky's MIL and DH and Kelly's DH. But it was a real page-turner!
I really like Jennifer Weiner's writing. This confused me a bit at first as it skips to different characters. But I adjusted. Great stories, especially for mothers.
chick lit
one of the good ones

Cute and entertaining!
I loved this book! It's a quick read and really captures the whole emotional aspect of life after a new baby. Good in Bed is stil my favorite Jennifer Weiner book though!
This book was so incredibly good. I literally could not put it down, it made me laugh and made me cry! A must read!
Fun book ! Jennifer Weiner NEVER disappoints !!!
Funny, riveting, touching...I finished it in one day, because I couldn't put it down!
This book weaves together the lives of new mothers from very different backgrounds in a funny, touching way.
She is one of my favorite authors. This book was a little different from her other ones I thought but still a book that I didn't want to put down!
didnt read it, but it got great reviews! Book is in good shape. Cover is a little worn.
I swear every book I have read latly I just can't put down, and this one was no exception. Its just not good for my school and house work! The book is about four women whose friendships form with the connection of thier new babies.
Great read.
Amusing if you're in the mood.
Not as great as Weiner's other novels I have read but I did enjoy it. The begining was hard to get into as far as learning the characters. She jumps back and forth between characters which is difficult in the begining when you are trying to get to know who is who and what is what, it can get a bit confusing. Once getting past the introductions, I really got into the book and enjoyed the characters. By the end, I was sorry it was over. Good book about about friendships, motherhood and life.
Good book!
This is a great book! The characters are very idendifiable. A fun read!
This book should be read by all new moms. It is absolutely hysterical. I wish I would of had it when my son was born!
This was a great book that gives a very realistic view of motherhood and how it changes your life, told from the perspective of four different women. I highly recommend this!!!
Fun, easy read.
Another readable story by the author of In Her Shoes. A chef, her wonderful husband, their baby girl, a successful restaurant & the mother-in-law from hell make for an amusing story of love & marriage.
Great book; wonderful book about 3 pregnant women who become friends, and their first year of raising their babies. I wasn't quite prepared for a book about first time motherhood, but I just love Jennifer Weiner and this is a great book by her.
This was a fun and curiously fascinating book. I guess you would have to be a mother to really, really appreciate it but even if your not it gives you a whole different view of mom's and motherhood and being a parent.
One of the best books I've read all year.
better than "in her shoes"... more along the lines of her first book... funny with very real and believable dialogue
X-cellent read. Funny.
Quick and easy read - story of four women friends and their relationships as new mothers, wives, and friends.
Loved this book, it was so well as i was reading i forgot it was a story and felt like i really know these ladies
A wonderful story of friendship and the complications of life.
I read this book when I went into Labor with my son, not realizing the book had to do with becoming a mother. It was the most suitable book to have at my bedside
It is about first-time mothers - since I am single with no children, I had a hard time relating.
I couldn't get into this!
I liked it. Along the lines of Good In Bed. Easy read.
A great book...especially for a mom-to-be or a new mom!
Three women and how they handle their first journey into motherhood.
Becky is a chef, Kelly is an event planner..who likes to plan a bit too much. Ayinde is the wife a pro football playerand always in the limelight. How they handle it all makes for some good reading.

I loved this book. Great for new moms, looks at life as a new mom from almost every perspective.
Loved it!
This book is another of Jennifer Weiner's great reads. I read all of her books. This book is about the lives of three very different women as they navigate one of life's most wonderful and perilous transitions; the journey of motherhood.
same author as "In Her Shoes" which was excellent. This one, different, but good.
Any one who has or is a mom will enjoy this book. A great story about relationships.
I got this book because I loved her other books. However, I only got through about half of this one. I did appreciate the realistic view of the huge way having children changes a woman's life. However, the cutsie-bootsie baby moments were too much for me. Maybe someone who adores babies will get more out of this book.
Throughly enjoyable, filled with wonderful characters.
Another winner from Weiner. This time, her heroines are young mothers from different situations who support each other through some tough times. As always, Weiner maintains a sense of humor despite her characters' challenges and celebrates the strength and positive side of human beings.
Another Jennifer Weiner favorite!!
A great look into Motherhood for moms to be or not. It shows the struggles everyone goes through and how we all deal with them. Easy read!
Great chick lit...Perfect for summertime!
This book had me laughing out load. I read it in less than a week. I loved it!!!!
Loved it, but I love Jennifer Weiner. She's fantastic. This book made me laugh and cry, which always makes a fabulous book. I've read all of her stuff and this was one of my favorites.
Loved this book. My favorite of all of her books so far. Easy read and very entertaining!
A gentle story of four new mothers who find that combining motherhood and marriage (along with careers, in-laws, infidelity, unemployment and tragedy) is more difficult than they expect, but is made easier with the support of friends.
LOVED it! Dead-on about the experience of being a new mom. There are references to infant loss, so it's not the easiest read for an expecting mother or a brand-new mom, but anyone who has survived the first few months of motherhood will appreciate it.
I have read all of Jennifer Weiner's books and I think this one is the best. All her books are good, but this book was really good! I couldn't wait to pick it back up and see what was going to happen next. The characters were memorable & realistic; no complicated plots or story lines. I thought it was an enjoyable 'chick lit' book.
I read this while pregnant and loved every page! A fast read and nice escape!
I just loved this book! It is the 1st I read by this author and I loved it!
Great character development by author. Plan to read more of her stuff.
This was a good beach read. Nothing insightful or different, but fun and easy to read.
I am still reading it but it is really good so far.
A fantastic read. A very realistic picture of the lives and friendships of 4 women.
Another great book from Jennifer Weiner. This one is my favorite. Great mom lit!
Very fun and easy read. It took me a while to get into it though.
interestingly written cast of women experiencing life's roller coaster ride
Funny and very entertaining. an eazy read
I really liked this story of four women and the unlikely friendship they formed. Each one experiences new motherhood in thier own unique way and how they support each other through the trials of new motherhood, inlaws, marital problems and job issues. It really touches on every aspect of being a new mother. It is everything they do not tell you it will be and how good friends can help you through anything.
This is a great book, especially for pregnant women or mother's of young kids, so funny! I felt like I really got to know the characters and that they were my friends. I was sad when it ended. If you're pregnant or have kids you will definitely get a kick out of this. I am neither and still thought it was adorable and amusing. :)
A great read!!!
thought this was a great story. i found myself laughing out loud several times!
Great book. It took a while to understand the point of view of the book, but after the first few chapters I couldn't put it down. i'm a big Jennifer Weiner fan, she's great!
BookPage Review:
The perils of parenting
New York Times best-selling author Jennifer Weiner offers a frank, funny and poignant look at new motherhood, marriage and friendship in her latest book, Little Earthquakes. This follow-up to Good in Bed and In Her Shoes (which is soon to be released as a motion picture starring Cameron Diaz) begins as Lia, an actress, returns to her hometown of Philadelphia from Hollywood to hide out after her baby's sudden death. Heartbroken and filled with guilt, Lia cannot help but notice pregnant friends Becky, Ayinde and Kelly, three very different women who meet in yoga class and bond instantly.
Becky is a wisecracking, overweight chef who worries that people will think she is just fat rather than pregnant. After her baby Ava arrives, she has to contend with the mother-in-law from hell, who tries to undercut Becky's authority. Cool and elegant Ayinde is married to basketball star Richard Towne. Her own parents generally delegated their child-rearing obligations to nannies and other hired help, but Ayinde is determined to be an involved, loving mother to baby Julian despite her husband's frequent absences. Peppy, blonde Kelly grew up in a big Catholic family with a mother who drank too much and a father who was content with the status quo. She has set her sights on having a perfect life and a perfect family in their perfect apartment, which they can barely afford even before her husband loses his job weeks before Oliver's birth.
Each of the women soon discovers what every new mother discovers: babies change everything, including the best-laid plans. Wealth, race and religion notwithstanding, Becky, Ayinde and Kelly all find themselves wondering why it's all so much harderâyet ultimately more rewardingâthan they thought it would be.
Little Earthquakes will have readers laughing, crying and, if they're mothers, nodding their heads in absolute understanding. This is a stay-up-all-night read that's worth a little sleep deprivation.

Another great book by J. Weiner.
Great book, really liked it.
Third book (copyright 2004) by the author of "In Her Shoes" (2002) and "Good in Bed," both extremely popular bestsellers. All will become or are movies.
