Hilarious political/journalism novel. Just when you think the situation can't get any more absurd, it does. Minor complaint about the ending kept it from the 5th star, but still a good read (unless, of course, you are a conspiracy theorist, in which case you'll just be pissed off).

Buckley is the master. His wit and humor are second to none. One of the very best intelligent fiction writers.
From the author of "Thank you for Smoking", a humorous look at the Alien Abduction phenomenon and the REAL invaders behind the mystery. Very enjoyable listen for a car trip, the daily commute, etc.
This lukewarm black comedy about an egotistical television pundit kidnapped by aliens never quite takes off.
A fun read and thought provoking too.

Christopher Buckley is a hipper, waggier (is there such a word?)Carl Hiaasen. He is incapable of writing that is not witty, knowing, full of inside jokes, with tongue firmly in cheek. In fact, I'd call him cheeky.
Start with "Thank you for Smoking", then "No Way to Treat a First Lady", then anything else he's written.
