Can you say, "Over the top?" This one sure is......the villain is just a bit too nasty, and frankly, there are just a few too many twists and turns in this one. Patterson is usually pretty good, but this one doesn't do it for me.
Helpful Score: 2
James Patterson has created two "explosive" villains. Surprises occur until the very end!

Made me give up on the Alex Cross series. It's an awful book!

If you like the Alex Cross series you'll love this one. Alex must deal with the Wolf and the Weasel on the same case. They are blowing up parts of major cities all over the world. Very suspenseful.

"London Bridges" is another in James Patterson's Alex Cross series, and this book combines both the Wolf and the Weasel from earlier books.
In London Bridges, a Nevada town is wiped off the map by unidentified planes dropping bombs. Soon, the Wolf (a Russian Mafioso and terrorist) claims responsibility. Another Cross nemesis, the Weasel, is also seen near the scene. The Wolf soon demands that unless billions of dollars are paid in ransom and dozens of political prisoners are released, he will target four major international cities with nuclear bombs. Dr. Alex Cross is a former Washington, DC policeman who is now with the FBI. He is placed on the case because of his familiarity with both the Wolf and the Weasel. The FBI, CIA, MI5, Interpol, the French police and a host of other law enforcement agencies are all involved in trying to track down the killers, who are leaving way too many dead bodies in their wake. Cross travels across the US, as well as to London, Paris and Zurich--following the terrorists and tracking down clues. Unfortunately, the bad guys always seem to be one step ahead of law enforcement and it appears that they may be getting inside help.
Unfortunately, London Bridges is not without its problems. Having the Wolf and the Weasel together was way over the top. I wasn't quite sure why Patterson even included the Weasel, as his role is never really explained. The number of people the Wolf had working for him was totally unbelievable. And I think Patterson set a record for dead bodies. The ending was a stretch and left many questions unanswered.
I always enjoy Patterson's books, but I always keep in mind that these are typical beach books--short, fast-paced, exciting but not too intricate.

If you like good mystery/thrillers such as Crais, Flynn, Connelly or Childs you want to skip this guy. I have noticed that he uses ghost writers now which is a good idea.
I do not usually post negative reviews but I feel a duty to warn folks off of this author.
It is rare that I can not finish reading a book. It was a chore to slog through this one. I found myself skipping entire chapters because I knew it was more drivel about Cross' beloved family that had no bearing on the story.
I really didn't care who the Wolf was or what happened to him by the end of this short story stretched into novel length.

In his 10th adventure, Alex Cross, now working full time for the FBI, is confronted by two of his most deadly foes: the faceless ex-KGB agent from last year's Big Bad Wolf, who's known as "The Wolf" and is threatening four metropolises with nuclear destruction; and the insane serial killer The Weasel, last seen in Patterson's Pop Goes the Weasel.
Good read.
This is the 10th book in the Alex Cross series. Includes two of the greatest villains The Wolf and the Weasel.
I enjoyed every page of this book.
I enjoyed every page of this book.
If you enjoy Alex Cross books, you will like this one. The bad guys are really scary and at times seem almost unstoppable. Of course, Alex prevails.
I was not a huge fan of this book, mainly due to the style that it was written in, but Alex Cross fans may not mind this. The storyline is engaging.
good writer
As with Patterson's work, it is impossible to sto reading this book once started. Who is the 'wolf' ~ you won't know until the end.
Although most of Patterson's books are well written, I just couldn't get into this one
Good book about modern day terrorism and the heights a well-organized, well-funded group can go to, to bring the USA to it's knees.
This is the 10th in the Alex Cross series- great read!
If you like reading James Patterson, don't skip this one--an Alex Cross novel.

Another Alex Cross book (10th) involving the Wolf and the Weasel. Hard to put down.
James Patterson writes an incredible story of intrigue and suspense. The 10th Alex Cross book - and better than all the others!
Never stops! Alex Cross flashes cross country and from country to country trying to catch The Wolf, who seems to have eyes and ears everywhere and really enjoys eliminating his enemies.
Another Great Classic in the Saga of Alex Cross
Not too shabby of a murder mystery
Tenth book in the Alex Cross series

This book was excellent. I could not put it down once I picked it up. Very exciting action.
THIS IS A GOOD BOOK THAT I ENJOYED READING.
These books are great - I love the Alex Cross character. They should be read in order.
Alex Cross goes international! Okay, James Patterson's psychologist-detective has been an international best-selling hit for year, but this time he actually has to travel to Europe in order to solve this mystery -- and believe me, it's no pleasure trip for Cross! You'll stay on the edge of your reading chair right up to the last page. Recommended.
I like the Alex Cross series but I think it might be getting a bit too long. Time to wrap it up Patterson
I have a fear of bridges and I took this book with me on vacation to Nags Head going over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge - it was quite the heart stopper

Very good. One of the more exciting Alex Cross books. The Alex Cross special section almost makes me want to keep the book.
A true thriller!
Another great Alex Cross novel.
A really good Alex Cross book (with the Wolf).
Don't want to ruin The Big Bad Wolf and Pop Goes the Weasel so all I can say is that this book picks up where they leave off and is extremely intense and twisted. Alex Cross novel with some truly unbelievable (and a few are honestly VERY hard to believe) plot twists.
"As with the best of Patterson's work, it is impossible to stop reading this book once started." - BookReporter.com
Another great Alex Cross mystery. Suprising ending
#10 of the Alex Cross Novels
This was a much anticipated book after The Big Bad Wolf kind of just left you hanging. Great reading as always. And I am always surprised to find out who did it.
Lot sof politics with lots of plot twists!
This was not the best Alex Cross novel, but certainly a good one. It is full of the usual suspense and pulls on your heartstrings quite a bit.
Yet another book in the series of Alex Cross. Still chasing the Wolf or are we?? Terriorist activity or the sly Wolf at work?
As usual a very good book with a surprised ending.
It was excellent!! I expected nothing less from James Patterson.
This was a very exciting book that kept you on the edge of your seat a typical James Patterson book GREAT read
finished this in less than 3 days - another awesome pageturner by Patterson -
A bit more on the unbelievable side (hopefully) but still an excellent book!
I really liked this book
Great addition to the Alex Cross series. Love, love, love.
Can anyone stop Alex Cross's old nemesis (the Wolf) from destroying major cities around the world? Alex has only four days to solve the riddle. Exciting read!
as always a good read/... love this series
Great conclusion to a trilogy featuring the same culprits: Pop Goes the Weasel, Big Bad Wolf, and this one.
A great Alex Cross novel. I really like the short chapters. They really lead you to want to continue reading to find out what happens next.
Another Alex Cross mystery, in which two of Cross's previous archnemeses are encountered, the Weasel and the Wolf. A fast read, entertaining and a quick pace.
Wonderful book!! One of James Patterson's best!
Alex does it again in this book. Great like all the others.
London Bridges is an unstoppable , explosive, and utterly shocking thriller that reveals once again why "Alex Cross is one of the great creations of thriller fiction."
One of my least favorites in the Alex Cross series.
Great read.
It's James Patterson. What else can I say?
A must read for all the Alex Cross fans.

If you love James Patterson, you love this book too. Alex Cross is back.
Another great Alex Cross Story.
GREAT THRILLER
Another great saga in the life of Alex Cross

"As with the best of Patterson's work, it is impossible to stop reading this book once started." -- Book Reporter.com
good Alex Cross story.
The 10th Alex Cross Novel - Two of the greatest villains Patterson has ever created in one book! His deadliest nemesis the Wolf, and a ruthless assassin known as the Weasel. A definite page turner.
This is another excellent Alex Cross story
I have read all of Patterson's Alex Cross novels and enjoyed them very much.. This one is one of the best.
In this, his 10th adventure, Alex Cross, must deal with two of his most deadly foes: the faceless ex-KGB agent The Wolf from last year's Big Bad Wolf, and the insane serial killer The Weasel, last seen in Patterson's Pop Goes the Weasel. Needless to say the action is fast and furious as Cross, who now works full-time for the FBI, attempts to bring both to justice and not be killed himself. Perhaps not as credible as some of the other Cross outings, but still a good read. As always with the later Patterson offerings is the question of who is really the author.
Good Read
Good read- like all the other Alex Cross books.
Great read...I've read it twice!
don't read this if you haven't read the prior books.....BIG SPOILER!! Thought it was good.....ready for the next book!
Alex Cross is better than ever. James Patterson keeps you on your toes. I didn't want to put this book down. Read it in two days.
From the cover: "Minutes after soldiers evacuate a Nevada town, a bomb completely destroys it. On vacation, FBI agent Alex Cross gets the call: the blast was perpetrated by the Wolf. Good...a quick read. Very fast paced.
Another Alex Cross thriller, keeps you interested, and has a twist.
A great sequel, very entertaining.
This is the bottom of the barrel for Patterson novels, in my opinion. The plot was weak, the pace was frantic, but not even fun and frantic. I didn't like the "The Wolf is ABC, no wait! It's XYZ, no wait! It's 123!".... ugh. Double ugh. The best part of this book was in the back, there was a special section on Alex Cross that kind of gave a recap of what has happened in the last 10 books. I liked that because I forgot a lot of it (plus I'm reading these out of order so I think I actually missed one or two books). Not a great book, but worth a read if you just want to keep up with Alex Cross - here's a spoiler, nothing happens in his personal life and the Wolf is dead (in theory anyway).
Great Story
Fast moving Alex Cross mystery, but I think two "super-villians" is one too many.
Another Alex Cross thriller. Once you start reading you won't want to put it down.
fast-paced, can definitely keep you reading right through the night!
Very good book!
Great novel, typical Patterson!
In broad desert daylight, a mysterious platoon of soldiers evacuates the entire population of Sunrise Valley, Nevada. Minutes later, a huge bomb detonates a hundred feet above the ground and lays waste to homes, cars, and playgrounds: a torn ntihiated in an instant. And, so is the Wolf, and so is the Weasel. Excellent reading. Keeps you in suspense.
Another great Alex Cross book. Great story line and fast reading to the last page.
James Patterson and Alex Delaware; another great story!
Loved it this Author hasn't a book out i haven't enjoyed.
