This is the book that started it all, ...the Bubba Mabry P. I. series by Steve Brewer!
Follow Bumbling Bubba as he works out of the "run down" Desert Breeze no-tell Motel to tackle Albuquerque's most notorious cases.
Still mentally living back in the old "route 66 days", Bubba brings a unique approach to crime fighting.
Currently (2007) there are 7 books in the series. The books, in order, are;
(1) Lonely Street
(2) Baby Face
(3) Witchy Woman
(4) Shaky Ground
(5) Dirty Pool
(6) Crazy Love
(7) Monkey Man

A quick, fun read.
Slow to start but engaging as it progresses. Satifying conclusion.
Albuquerque p.i. Bubba Mabry has "dead" Elvis for a client.
Fun read! Loved the tongue-in-cheek writing style and found Bubba to be a very likeable fellow. Have recently ordered the second in this series.
P.I. Bubba Mabry badly needs a new client and some money as he cools his heels on Albuquerque's once-fabled Route 66. A security job for a celebrity is offered and he quickly accepts it. It turns out that the celebrity, Mr. Aaron, is the King himself, back from the dead and determined to keep a low profile. . . the one, the only ELVIS! Is it really Elvis? The story is fast, funny, and deadly.
