Long Journey Home is more a continuation of a family saga--it's actually the latest of several in this series--though I didn't have any problem sorting through the various members of the loving, richly characterized O'Connor clan. There's a tender romance thrown in the mix, but the biggest perk for me came from its historical value. It gave me new genealogical leads and insights into the life patterns of my Irish ancestor. 4 stars.
