wonderful book. The characters are so loveable that you cry when they cry and laugh when they laugh. This is a book you don't put down until the last page is read.

Really good book; read in one day. Was hard to put down; this was one that touches the heart.
For 16 years Marnie Hibbs had raised her sister's son as her own, hoping that her love would make up for the father David would never know...dreaming that someday David's father would find his way back into her life. And then one afternoon Marnie looked up and Law Kincaid was there, as strong and heartbreakingly handsome as ever. Flooded with bittersweet memories, marnie yearned to lose herself in his arms, yet a desperate fear held her back, for this glorious man who had given her David now had the power to take him away. For the second time in her life Law Kincaid held her future in his hands, but Marnie knew the final decision was hers to fight Law all the way---or risk revealing the passion in her heart
typical good writing from sandra brown. a romance with a happy ending. fun to read too!
a good quick read
Very good book, entertaining, light reading.
Quick read, but really fun. Definately love the way it all unravels.
Read this book in one day. Light reading, happy ending of course. Typical light romance but has a good story.
Very good quick read. Sandra Brown is one of my favorite authors. I enjoyed this book a lot.
Excellent book
Written in 1988 and reissued in 2006, Sandra Brown calls this one of her Loveswept Romances. It is a predictable tale of a women who is raising her dead sister's son and a man who finds out he is the father of a teen-age son.
Typical Sandra Brown book.....great!!!!
Another good one by Brown.
Someone is sending Law Kincaid anonymous letters claiming he fathered a son he knows nothing about. He shows up on Marnie Hibb's address since that's the return address on the letters. She swears she didn't send the letters, but then Law meets her son who looks just like him. He can't remember sleeping with Marnie and she claims the boy isn't biologically hers. Tension, attraction and secrets abound.
When you're looking for a love story, Sandra Brown can always deliver. Interesting conflicts as the newly found father tries to find his place in the family structure.
Marnie's past drops into her life, threatening to take her son and her heart.
Good book. Fast & fun.
Couldn't put it down until I was done with the book!
This is one of Sandra Brown's late 1980's books. A very poignant, heartfelt book. I have yet to read a book of this era by Ms. Brown that I haven't loved.
I couldn't put this down, until I got to the end.
Marnie Hibbs has spent sixteen years single-handedly raising her dead sisters son, David. Knowing she risks losing David forever, Marnie makes the difficult decision to reveal his existence to his father, handsome astronaut Law Kincade. But when Kincade does show up, it is to take his son away from Marnie.
For sixteen years Marnie Hibbs had raised her sister's son as her own, hoping that her love would make up for the father David would never know. In this tender, beautifully written love story, a man and a woman find themselves battling each other for the love of a child.
After nearly 16 years of single handedly raising her sister's child, Marnie gets a surprise visit from the unknowing birth father, a famous astronaut who bedded down her then 16 year old sister Sharon (he was 23) and produced David. Sharon died when David was 4. Apparently someone has been sending letters about David to Law, and he is there to put a stop to the potential career-ending rumors. His first reaction upon meeting Marnie? He does not recall sleeping with her.
When confronted with David, the similarity between the two is striking; David is the spitting image of Law. Law insists on a blood test, but already has lost his heart to his son and his adoptive mother. Unknown to him, she has carried a torch for him since she was 14. He tries to worm his way into her heart (okay, really just her bed), while she tries to hold him at arm's length. Marnie allows David to move in with Law temporarily to allow them to get to know each other. But will he choose all the gadgets and possessions Law can provide verses the love he has had the last 16 years?
The fact that Law constantly pressures Marnie into an intimate relationship is somewhat comical. He refers to the birth mother of his child as a slut (Sharon was a 16 year old virgin when he met her, fed her alcohol, skinny dipped with her, then deflowered her), yet Marnie is matronly because she will not engage in the same reckless behavior... Take this for what it is - a very dated melodramatic romance novel with a very alpha male that does not really translate well in this decade, but was interesting nonetheless. I really liked the relationship between Marnie and David.

Marie raised her nephew as her own ever since he was a baby. David's dad finds out. He comes to their house to find out the truth. They change for the better. A great read!
linda howard is great....this is about a woman who raises her sister's son & the boys father returns, holding her future in his hands.
I just love Sandra Brown! Another great read!
In this tender, beautifully wrought love story, a man and a woman find themselves battling each other for the love of a child. But their heated tug-of-war can only end one way...
One of my favorite romance novels
Good, fast read!
In this classic tale, a woman is reunited with the man she's loved for years--and faced with the secret that may jeopardize her chance for happiness at last.

The astronaut doesn't always get his way all the time no matter what public opinion thinks. So then throw in a teenager and things get unusual for Law the celebrity astronaut.
Marnie, the sister of an unwed mother, takes over the child rearing of her nephew when her sister dies. 17 years later, as a result of a mystery, she is confronted with the baby's father, who is now famous and furious that he was never told. Enjoyable, but an early effort.
A typical fantasy, Prince Charming, church mouse princess romance novel.
Unabridged, 6 hours, read by Susan Denaker
I assume this is a reprint of an early Brown romance. Even two or three decades ago the "hero" would have been objectionable to most women I think...certainly to this one. The reader's drawling accent is annoying (and I am a Texan myself), but for Brown fans this is a quick listen and could be a good story if not for the extreme arrogance of the hero, and benign acceptance by the heroine.

Two and a half stars because this being an earlier novel by Brown, it was predictable and the leading man was arrogant and crass and the leading woman was a dolt. The teenage boy was the best character in the book. Okay for a simple romance story I guess, just not my cup of tea.
In more than fifty New York Times bestselling novels, Sandra Brown has captivated her millions of readers with stories of charismatic love and tantalizing twists of fate. In this classic tale, a woman is reunited with the man she has loved for yearsand must reveal the secret that will jeopardize her chance for happiness at last.
He arrived out of the bluea flesh-and-blood phantom from the past in a sports car as sleek and sexy as Law Kincaid himself. The world-famous astronaut was as devastatingly attractive as the first time Marnie Hibbs had laid eyes on him, seventeen years before. But she well knew the perils of falling for a ladies man like Law. And this time she had someone besides herself to protect. Law is determined to discover who is sending him anonymous letters claiming hed fathered a son he knows nothing about. Showing up at the Hibbss return address from the letters seemed like a step in the right direction. Marnie swears she isnt the guilty party, but when Law meets her son, its like a one-two punch to his solar plexus. The boy is nearly the spitting image of Law. Law cant remember sleeping with Marniethen again, he cant remember much about his crazy past. But theres more to it than that: Marnie claims the boy isnt biologically hers.
As the tension between them becomes unbearable and the attraction undeniable, Marnie is forced to reveal a long-held secret...one that might cause her to lose both the boy she loves more than anyoneand the man she desires more than anything.
