This is a very sad Laura book, but very loved at the same time. We really enjoyed this book (my 5 yr old said this!). We will reread all these over time because we love them so much.

This is an account of the Ingalls family enduring a winter of blizzards...one after another. No trains could get through with food and coal and the townspeople began to starve. The story is a testament to their faith and determination.

This is the story of the Ingalls family coping with a severe winter during which a series of blizzards tested their endurance.
The old Indian in Harthorn's store warned that the coming winter would have seven months of blizzards. The first one strikes in October, and the town of De Smet is soon snowed under. Laura and her family move to town to weather out the winter, but once the trains stop running, the food supply dwindles. When Almanz Wilder volunteers to go search for wheat, the townspeople anxiously hope that he will succeed.
One of the best in the Little House Series.

How Laura and her family survived the big snow that lasted from October to May...
Who doesn't love Laura Wilder? These classics are getting harder to find in paperback. This is a Scholastic 1968 version.
This is a long book, not as enjoyable as the others in the series. It gets long when reading it aloud.
Another in the "Little House" series and each as wonderful. The Ingalls famnily moves in to town due to the blizzards and they try to survive a very hard winter. They town survives due to the Wilder brothers that came from Malone, NY. The stories show that it was not easy trying to survive that harsh winter. It makes you appreciate your ancestors knowing that life was tough and so much hard work. The "Little House" series is so wonderful and the Ingalls family had so many great things going on in their family even though trying to meet their daily needs was such hard work. Everyone should read this.
