I'm doing the NaNoWriMo thing this month and am trying to find an editor and/or alpha/beta reader. I'm new to this whole process so be gentle. I already lined up a person on Fiverr to do my cover (fingers crossed, if it turns out horrible, I've got back up). I haven't started yet but I will this weekend. My work schedule makes it super hard to write during the days that I'm working. If anyone wants to be any of the above or knows of someone or a site that does these things (and doesn't cost an arm and a leg...my budget is slim to none and I've already put a bit for the cover). Thanks! |

There are people on the NaNOwrimo forum who beta read for others. SO try posting there too. Plus there is a nano facebook group where you can ask people for those services. Just worry about writing it first, then get a beta reader. An editor that actually does a good job can cost $500 or more for a short novel (usually by word or page). |

For my 80,000 word novel I was quoted $1200 for it to be copy edited and line edited. (there is many forms of editing too). But this person was a true pro and edits for some of the big publishers. I'd ONLY pay for it, if you arent getting an agent or self publishing. |

Hey Ashley- I just PM'd you, but I agree focus on finishing your first draft, use December to edit & hone your novel and then find someone or better a few avid readers to go through and offer their opinions. Good luck. |
