As a child, Rebekah suffered a freak accident that left her legs paralyzed. Now, confined to a wheelchair most of the time, she feels that she will never measure up to the expectations of her Pennsylvania Amish community that a woman marry and raise a family.
When Daniel Beachy who has long seemed smitten by Rebekah's cousin begins to spend time with Rebekah. She believes it is only because he feels sorry for her and is interested in obtaining her new business.
After all, what man would choose a woman with a handicap such as hers for a wife?
Will Rebekah ever find the miracle she is looking for?
Excellent book. Very heartwarming.

This is book 2 of "Brides of Lancaster County"... It continues with the same story line (family)as book 1 "A Merry Heart"... and throughout the series... Four books in all... This publications is updated from the first with added content... Wanda Brunstetter still writes books that are quick to read... A good read if you would like to know more about the Amish way of life...dg

A lovely tale of a handicapped girl who finds love. A light read.

This is a good gentle read. It is about an Amish woman who had an accident that paralyzed her legs. It shows the struggles she has with her emotions and everyday life. She isn't perfect, and that is what I liked about her. This book, because it is about the Amish, who are Christians, would probably be considered a Christian book.

I enjoyed reading this series but did find it lacking. It is not nearly as good as some of her other books.

For me this was just another formula book by Ms Brunstetter. Poor young Amish girl made bitter by her life experiences. Based on the advice of others, she eventually invites God into her life and everything turns out wonderful. While for the most part I enjoy Ms Brunstetter's writing I do get tired of the seemingly same plot over and over.
