This is the 6th Spenser novel. About the kidnapping of a feminist author. Good, solid Spenser tale.

Great book, and Spenser meets his match for being tuff. Rachell Wallace is all and more than Spenser can handle.

One of the best Spenser tales. No real mystery here, just great detective work. This is one of the first books that really gets to the heart of what Spenser is all about. Knights in shining armor, damsels in distress, and and action-filled adventure that leaves you wanting more.

When Spenser is hired to protect a controversial feminist author, they quickly clash and she fires him. She is subsequently kidnapped, and Spenser does not hesitate to make it his business to find and rescue her.

Great story with a new twist. Book #6 of the Spenser series, and is nearly is good as the first 5, which I LOVED. This was still a great read, but not my favorite. Perhaps it was the story line of Rachel Wallace being so hard-core a feminist that she condemned anyone who thought differently from her. She ended up coming across as a bit one-dimensional a character and so difficult that I didn't like her very much. Spenser, and his love interest Susan are as terrific and engaging as ever. So although this wasn't my favorite of the series, it's still a good quick read to get to Roert Parker's next Spenser book, "Early Autumn," which is absolutely worth the wait!

This is an average Spencer adventure. Aside from having odd characters, a women's lib and gay rights activist in the title role, and a rich, hyper-conservative protagonist, the plot is not very suspensful. Spencer spends a lot of time blundering around before solving the ho-hum plot.
