This was a wonderfully fun book to read. Both my teen daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We highly recommend it.
This was Laura Paquet's first regency. Although it has serious subtext (women unhappy in their marriages; the power of fathers over their children, especially daughters; it's always the money), it doesn't wallow in these things. Clarissa doesn't fold under these obstacles to her happiness and selfhood; she resists. I liked her. Well worth reading, but I still wonder what happened to the horse Viking :)
