I rarely write a veview but this was just too good to pass. The dialog between the heroine and the hero was so delightful I found myself guffawing - alone, by myself, which is kinda creepy. However, if you enjoy a good chuckle, this might satisfy. As a result, I've added several more of Loretta Chase books to my Wish List.

This is a very good romance, with a heroine who is quite beguiling. The plot is amusing and the banter between Bathsheba and the hero is sweet and funny. Very good read.

The third book in the series, after Miss Wonderful and Mr. Impossible. This book starts out wonderfully, and has well-developed characters and scenes, just like the previous two, but then something goes wrong. In trying to come to an acceptable resolution for Benedict and Bathsheba, Chase drags things on instead of wrapping them up. Too many characters get involved and too many predictable turns take place. Chase's previous books were much tighter and held your interest better. That said, the best part about this book is the two youngsters who stir the action (Olivia and Peregrine). After finishing Lord Perfect, I spent more time wondering about them and their future stories than I did Benedict and Bathsheba. I hope that Chase write their stories soon.

All her life Bathsheba Wingate has had people look at her askance because of her scandalous family. Currently a young widow with a young daugher to provide for, the last thing Bathsheba expected was to find herself deeply and hopelessly attracted to Benedict Carsington, Viscount Rathbourne, otherwise known as Lord Perfect. So that when an unexpected turn of events forces both Rathbourne and herself into a road trip together, Bathsheba knows better than to expect a happily ever-after ending -- even if the attractive and completely taking Viscount Rathbourne sees things otherwise...
A perfect lord chasing his nephew and his companion whose the daughter of the most notorious woman in England. How can he stay a perfect love in the face of loving a woman born from con artist.
Delightful road romance.
Delightful road romance.
Entertaning and funny. Much better than Mrs. Wonderful
I always love Loretta Chase!
Very funny & witty book.
I usually love Loretta Chase, but I had a problem with this book. The hero and heroine are thrown together while looking for the heroine (Bathsheba)'s missing daughter Olivia. Bathsheba is more angry than worried about her daughter missing and I never got the sense of frantic urgency and worry that one would imagine a mother would feel if her 12 year old daughter was missing. Granted, Olivia is written as an unpleasant child, but I would have thought that Bathsheba would have exhibited more concern about finding her daughter and less time stopping frequently for sex with the (admittedly very appealing) hero.
I loved this book. Quite entertaining. Ann Willman
Of course this builds on the Carsington family traits that we've seen in the first two novels. I was kind of surprised that it focused on the oldest brother Benedict but I don't know why. Each brother has to have a unique setting and challenge. I can honestly say tho' that so far this is my favorite of the 3 I've read so far in the series. I'm looking forward to the rest. I loved the chase and the whole idea of one's nephew and one's daughter on the loose. It was light, it was funny. There's at least 10 scenes I hope to draw from in the future. I even marked the pages which I usually don't do.
A delightful story ... loved the characters!
fun, love this author
IDEAL
The heir to the Earl of Hargate, Benedict Carsington, Viscount Rathbourne, is the perfect aristocrat. Tall, dark, and handsome, he is known for his impeccable manners and good breeding. Benedict knows all the rules and has no trouble following them...until she enters his life.
INFAMOUS
Bathsheba Wingate belongs to the rotten branch of the DeLucey family: a notorious lot of liars, frauds, and swindlers. Small wonder her husband's high-born family disowned him. Now widowed, she's determined to give her daughter a stable life and a proper upbringing. Nothing and no one will disrupt Bathsheba's plans...until he enters her life...
SCANDALOUS
Them Bathsheba's hoyden daughter lures Benedict's precocious nephew into a quest for a legendary treasure. To recover the would-be knights errant, Benedict and Bathsheba must embark on a rescue mission that puts them in dangerous, intimate proximity. It's a situation virtually guaranteed to end in mayhem..even scandal!...if anyone else were involved. But Benedict is in perfect control of events. Perfect control, despite his mad desire to break all the rules. Perfect control. Really.

This is a keeper. I love the Carsington series but this one is my favorite, I think. I suggest beginning at Book 1, but this could stand alone and if this is the only one you can read, read it. I intend to return to this again and again. It is a lovely happy love story with very strong and good characters.
