This is a a sci-fi/futuristic romance. The story starts off with the heroine, Captian Shaylah Graymist taking a much needed and deserved leave from her post. She is a decorated hero of the Coalition and her reward is Wolf, the hero of the story. Wolf is a slave who is kept in line with the use of a collar that can control his emotions and punish him if her doesn't please her. Wolf is from the planet Trios, a world that the Coalition savagedly destroyed and only a handful of people survived. He is a perfectly shapped man who has been used to pleasure many. and yet is is never allowed to have any pleasure or freedom himself. Shaylah decides to give him his freedom because even though she is part of the Coalition she hates it policies.

She must rescue him and together they must fight for his freedom and their growing feelings for each other. This is a both tragic and wonderously amazing tale of two people from different cultures trying to build a new one. I am so please i found this book and I'm looking forward to finding the sequel.

If you love sci-fi AND romances - this is a GREAT book! Better than I thought it would be!!! And the slave-captain role reversal stuff is H*O*T!

Great book. Sci-fi romance. I didn't think it was going to be as good as it was.

Spoiler Alert!
Altogether I thought this book was interesting for a paperback romance, but I have to say I was deeply disturbed by the whole collar thing. To me rape is bad enough, but not only was the poor man being raped, he was brainwashed into apparently enjoying what would normally repulse him. I went into this book expecting a light romance with a little bit of a quirk, instead I came away with the nauseating image of the main male lead being repeatedly tortured and assaulted, though the author thankfully had the good sense to just hint at what happened to the man instead of giving all the gory details, well I guess that's better than how it usually plays out in these style of novels with the women being repeatedly raped since as we all know it's not nearly as traumatic for a man to be raped as it is for a woman....hopefully you realized I was being sarcastic. : /
