I enjoyed this book - the main characters were likeable, the relationships developed early on (no "fighting the attraction to the end" issues), they treated each other well, there were good supporting secondary characters (that will supposedly have their own books later), and there was a bad guy that everyone worked together to vanquish. This is a menage story (m/f/m - no m/m) with a satisfyingly permanent HEA. The heroes are the strong, protective, alpha type without being jerks (yay!) and the heroine isn't of the TSTL variety (again - yay). Needless to say, there was some definite heat in this book! I have to admit that there was also a bit of a "check your brain at the door" thing going on with some issues, but hey, it's a PNR series, so you're already stepping out on a limb there.

This book is part of a series ("Paranormal Tales"), but unfortunately, not all the books are available in print yet. The only other book I've read in this series is Sweeter Than Wine - but it's very good as well. See this link for a listing of all Bianca D'Arc's Paranormal Tales books, in order: http://tales.biancadarc.com/

Plot Summary: This is a modern day m/f/m erotica menage story. The next book in this series, Inferno, comes out in 2010. (no m/m). The heroine comes into her powers as a priestess suddenly and is reunited with her "people" the were-folk living on the fringes of modern society. She immediately finds her two "fated mates" (who are twin brothers) and they all have to fight a nasty mage trying to kill off priestesses.

Main Characters: Rafe, Tim, and Allie. Rafe and Tim are good heroes. They are both alpha, but different enough from each other that there was no confusing them. They were caveman like in ways, but were "man" enough to let the heroine be strong. Allie was a good heroine... likable, brave, loving, strong, accepting.

Best About This Book: The characters fell in love VERY quickly and the relationship progressed very fast. This stretched plausability at times, but was a nice change from books were the h/h fight their attraction to each other long into the book. The "mythology" of the book: the were (shapeshifters), vampires, priestesses, mages, etc..) was well-done. Not too convoluted, but interesting enough to hold my attention. The sex was very hot. The author has a distinctive voice, which I liked. Secondary characters were few and interesting. I rather liked Dante. :-)

Worst About This Book: It dragged a little in places, and there were a few annoying plot contrivances (we need to get somewhere fast? no problem, Allie JUST happened to become stronger and can teleport us! That kind of thing). But really nothing stands out to me as terrible.

Summary: Definitely worth a credit. Hot erotica with a solid enough plot to be entertaining. I will read more of this author :-)

Paranormal erotic romance from Samhain Publishing. I'm sorry to say that I didn't care for this book. After less than a hundred pages, I had to give up. The heroine accepts a new live, and falls in love with twin brothers in less than 24 hours. And, there is something about the author's style of writing that just turns me off. Couldn't finish it. It may be a good book, but I didn't care for it.

I am really annoyed with myself that I actually paid money for this piece of garbage. It didn't take me very long into the book (less than 10 pages) to realize that this wasn't what I'd hoped for in a paranormal romance/erotica novel. The writing style was very early high school quality (you know--the kind that 7th graders put out when attempting a creative writing course). I guess I'm just the type who prefers something that is actually written well and not just thrown together so it can sell because a certain genre is popular. The characters are shallow, flaky and spout corny dialogue often. The lead character, Allie, just doesn't have a clue and is ignorant of the life she's supposed to embrace due to a promise to her mother, which makes the story and plot very unbelievable. I gave this thing almost 50 pages before I had to stop or I'd throw it across the room and ruin the book itself (Hey! I do want a PBS credit for it at least!) Someone else might enjoy this, but I thought it was a bunch of crap.

An alright overall story, though not really a keeper...For me it's probably because Ms D'Arc's style of wrtiting bugs the bejesus out of me...The story feels sort of like a fantasy (with para elements) but with modern language...Think Urban LOTR....For me, it was very disconcerting and nearly impossible to read it in one sitting. I had to keep taking breaks becasue I kept getting annoyed!

But if you liked any of Bianca D'Arc's previous titles, chances are, you'll like this one too. It was a pretty decent story, though a little underdeveloped and things moved even quicker than I'm used to (even for Romance novels!). Oh and the world building was a bit on the scant side as well. We get a few details , but not really enought to really understand the world she's trying to put together. The characters were all okay...They didn't really stand out, but I didn't hate them either. If it wasn't for my issue with the way she writes, I pobably would have liked this a whole lot more.

Keep in mind, that (at least IMO) if you've read and disliked her previous titles, this probably won't change your mind.
