A fascinating story about an Army Air Forces soldier, written by his grandson, showing how there is so much courage in many of us, and cowardice in others too. The author did a marvelous job interwinding the stories of the Allied airmen, the French Resistance and the collaborators, the Germans and others into a entertaining tale. His grandfather would be proud of him.
While France still hasn't come to terms as to how many of its citizens collaborated with the Germans, it's also true a great many French men and women were willing to pay the price, knowing how terrible it might be, to help their Allies.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book as it was well written, well researched and definitely kept my wanting to know the next things that happened to the main character (Arthur). How cool to get to go back to the places his grandad was in WWII and conduct research for this book. Arthur and the people of the French Resistance we're certainly tough ones and Suffered much at Nazi hands.
