From the backrooms of the Smithsonian to the deepest woods in rural Arkansas, and finally up into the rugged mountains of northern New Mexico, The Lost Order by Steve Berry is a perilous adventure into our country's dark past, and a potentially even darker future.
I loved learning about The Knights of the Golden Circle and it's connection to the Smithsonian Institution. We are introduced to Cotton's namesake uncle, Angus 'Cotton' Adams, a confederate spy, and his connection to knights and the lost treasure from 160 years ago during the Civil War. I enjoyed the intrigue of the Speaker of the House wanting to make radical changes to the country. Exciting adventures of Malone, Cassiopeia, Danny Daniels and Stephanie Nelle and threats to their lives. I'm looking forward to the next Cotton Malone book and recommend this one to those who love historical mystery.
