I wanted to like this book more than I did - a romance and horses, what's not to like? Well, maybe I'm just getting older, but the very innocent, flighty, and somewhat shallow heroine never captured my sympathies. The big "problem" in her life is that she's on her third season of looking for a husband. She thinks she might like a man who's obsessed with horses, so she takes riding lessons. The riding instructor has an interesting story and place in society. Raised by his uncle, he knows horses and has been dubbed "Cupid" because of his matchmaking skills. The story of his parentage and the reason for the attacks on his business were what kept me reading. My time would have been better spent rereading one of her older titles on my keeper shelf.

Young and annoying heroine who liked to argue with hero. Lackluster story, though I found him more interesting as a horse breeder than a matchmaker. His having to work through his abandonment issues also gave him more dimension. 2.5 stars.

I love this author & have read all of her books, but this one was a disappointment. I found the 'heroine' to be spoiled, arrogant, & totally self-absorbed. The hero was a puzzle - confident in his abilities, but so insecure because he was illegitimate -Huh? Everyone is beautiful, powerful, & throwing their weight around; it gets to be a bit stale. Sorry, Ms. Lindsey, but this one is a miss.
