I have to say this was my least favorite Elin Hilderbrand book. It seemed to drone on and on and was difficult for me to get through. The story line and characters were boring and predictable.
I have enjoyed all of the other books by this author (I've read at least six others), but have to say this one was a huge disappointment.

maybe the people on Nantucket have no morals, or maybe people really do act like animals, but the casual sex, the relationships these characters have seem unbelievable to me. Are we that desperate that we seek to read junk like this?

I couldn't put this book down...and really got into the characters, loved the setting, etc. There were some random story directions, and I think the ending left me a little unsatisfied. Ended just a little too abruptly. Still a great book by a great author.

I am beginning to like this author more and more. This is the second book I have read by this author, and I must say that I really like her writing style. Once again, just like Barefoot, I really liked this story. It was told really well and had a very good ending.
Good read.
I am on an Elin Hilderbrand reading spree and The Love Season was not my favorite of hers. However, I really liked the audio narrator Christina Delaine and will definitely check out other books she has narrated.
In typical Elin Hilderbrand fashion, the novel takes place in Nantucket with a lot of food descriptions, a few love stories and a couple of cheating partners. I didn't like the ending, it was abrupt and didn't really conclude the story.

I usually love her books, but this one just disappointing to me. It did not capture my interest like usual, and I did not care for the ending.
This is a book that catches you. Some may consider it an intense read. I wish it included the recipes for the meal that Marguerite makes for Renata. It is a beautiful and heartbreaking tale. It is about love and loss and forgiveness. Yes, it is a 'chick' book, but it's really about that wonderful bond that's there between lifetime friends and family.
Drew me in and kept me captivated from the first chapter. The character development was well done. The story came to life and,let me part if it on every page.
Read the book in one day. I loved it! Only the second book I read this author and I will definitely be reading more by her. It is hard to believe the book only spawns one day when you begin but before you know it the book and the day are over and it all goes together smoothly.
This was the first book I've read by this author and it sure won't be the last. While the entire present day story takes place over the course of a day, the author does a wonderful job of weaving the past in so you get a lot more character development. I wish we found out what happened to some of the other characters in the story, but I thought this was fantastic!
A good vacation read. You can take a break for a bit and jump right back in, but stay interested enough to finish.
This is my least favorite book by Elin Hilderbrand, one of my favorite authors. I frankly couldn't care about the characters, they made disastrous, life altering decisions and were extremely selfish. She's one of my favorite authors, but I wouldn't recommend this effort.
This was a very good book. Well written. It covers a lifetime of history in a day. Good summer read! Carol
I loved this book. I couldnt put it down!
One of the best books I've ever read! An emotional, riveting story that takes place in 24 hours, but covers decades in the lives of the characters. Great character development. ..felt like I personally knew them and their feelings. Anyone who has lived and loved deeply, with every fiber of their being will understand this deep and profound story.
Love Season is beautifully written; each of her books is more well-crafted than the next, somewhat like the creation of Marguerite's cooking. I find myself going back to this book, this time to get all the recipes, how Marguerite cooks this one fabulous meal... nothing is really written in measuring-amounts, but the whole process from scratch. (When I first read it I went quickly, this time I'm taking notes, not just for the food, but restaurants, stores, etc., in case we should ever go back to Nantucket!) Hilderbrand writes in the 2 very different rhythms of her 2 main characters, the young woman Renata & Marguerite, her "forbidden" godmother she is finally coming to meet: the pace they move at, the "music" in their head. the difference beteen the older woman who has been through love, loss, and a girl just finding it.
Loved this book! It had me engrossed from page one until the very end. Hard to put down. I really enjoy Elin Hilderbrand's books ~ will defintely read more.
My fourth Elin Hilderbrand book and I just love her! Her characters are believeable and you can just picture them in your mind's eye. Her descriptions of the people and the places of Nantucket make you really feel like you're there.
