An excellent read. Gives a good perspective of the native Americans during that time. We are certainly a spoiled generation.

As always Jane Kirkpatrick has told an amazing story weaving fact with fiction to bring us on another journey of faith, hope, and love. Told By people but the always present love ofGod if we just are willing to look and receive what He is showing us. I love all her books she does such a excellent job of giving us details of how it was to live and surive during this time. Always makes me think and ask myself questions along the way as i read her books. She always has maps and what the native american words mean as a guide as you are reading her book.

Not as light as much fiction but gives a good historal look at the life of native Americans while telling the story of a young white child raised by the indians.

Excellent historical fiction relating to the period of the Oregon Trail. She focuses on women's views of that time and weaves in historical figures into her accounts. If you like this book, check out her other books.
