This is a well-written book with excellent explanations. The author offers interesting meal ideas and recipes. Before giving the ingredients and instructions, the author gives the "health value" of each recipe. Although there are no photos of finished recipes, the author gives servings, cooking times, and nutritional values per serving (including sodium, an important aspect for my family).

Additionally, the author answers frequently asked questions about low-glycemic-index foods. She also addresses how low-GI foods affect mental health, athletes, children, teens, etc. The conclusion explains the long-term benefits of a low-GI diet. Excellent information.
