I am not sure what this book is trying to be, but in my opinion it is not worth reading. That being said I did finish the book. It was relatively short and it didn't take up too much of my time, but I thought it was going to get better, that the story was going to evolve, but it did not. There is no one in this story to care about or root for, there is no main mystery, I am really not even sure the genre other than basic fiction. I read it solely based on a magazine review and now I believe that must have been a paid review or I missed something. It is well written in terms of its ability to keep you reading in the hopes of something more, something better. it just never happened.

This book can't figure out if it wants to be chick lit, Jodi Picoult, or a mystery/thriller, and as a result, does very poorly. The main character is shallow and unsympathetic, as are her parents. Skip it. Don't waste your time.

All of us probably had a hard time in High School, at one point or another. Trying to 'fit in' is hard, especially then. What happens to Ani just trying to fit in is the stuff of nightmares, except it's happened for real way too many times now. Makes you wonder what is really going on when you see those totally put together women all of us envy just a little bit. A cautionary tale, to say the least.

This was not the best book but I found it very interesting. The setting of Philadelphia was very familiar and I enjoyed picturing all the places mentioned in the book. It covered a lot of familiar topics such as; eating disorders, rape, school shootings and bullying. The main character, Ani, is very unlikeable and calculating. Knoll does the mean-girl portrayal very well but I think she took on too many issues. I still found it entertaining!
the author was actually the luckiest girl alive to have this poorly written trash printed. total waste of time, couldnt stand it after the first hundred pages. It is billed as being like Gone girl, NO WAY! Its just awful Dont waste your time
I really did not care for the main character and it was hard to stand by her and root for her.
As much as I wanted it to, this book did not make sense to me. I could not finish it.
I liked this novel better than "The Favorite Sister" by the same author. Somewhat predictable plot and an overload of heart-wrenching tragedies at one prep school...I loaned it to my daughter and she described it as "anti-climactic."
It takes a while to care about the main character, but then all hell breaks loose and you can't wait to read more. All in all a very chilling tale.
This is a good story, quite fascinating in fact. It is dark and certainly not a happy tale.
I struggled with this book. Couldn't stand the sexual antics of 14 year old Tifani, (horrible name) and disliked her and everyone else involved..
Touted as another "Gone Girl", but not even near. I stopped reading half way through, Waste of my time.

I really enjoyed this book, even though the content was dark. Have already recommended it to friends.
