So this was my first book from Hiaasen. SO funny!!! Quick read. A lot of different characters but all their stories become intertwined in interesting ways and its not confusing at all. I will def. read his other novels!

Very funny and outrageous in Hiassen's usual style. Bizarre Floridian characters, tropical setting, hilarious, provacative
Great book on a new and different subject. Very entertaining and a great read!
Witty....Colorful....Entertaining..
A typical crazy Hiaasen book taking place in South Florida.
Absolutely loved it! -- MMP
Living in Florida, working at a theme park, Carl's work hits home for me. I love his humor, a little trashy in all the right places, definitely "R" rated. Great departure..
What fun. Twists, turns, challenging stereotypes, plus all that great attitude Carl Hiaasen dishes out. Another winner.
Carl Hiaasen really puts you in the story. Its a great book.
I love this book! Carl Hiaasen writes a good mystery, complete with well developed characters and humor. This was one of my favorites.

JoLayne Lucks lives in a town infamous for its suspicious miracles, but she's still elated when her lottery numbers finally pay off big: $28 million to be exact. And she has great plans for her fortune: to save a rare piece of Florida paradise from the bulldozers.
Only one problem: There's another winning Lotto ticket, and the people who've got it just never learned how to share. When the two militia wannabes swipe JoLayne's ticket, she enlists an off-the-rails newspaperman to help her track down the trigger-happy creeps and their bewildered hostage, a Hooters' waitress. Getting rick is never easy . . .

Who has the winning lottery number? The people who have it don't like to share. When two militia wannabes swipe the ticket from a thirty year old woman, she enlists a newspaper-man to help her track down the creeps and their bewildered hostage, a Hooters' waitress. Getting rich quick is never easy... One of the funniest books!
JoLayne Lucks has one of two winning lottery tickets each worth a cool $14 million. She plans to spend it rescuing a local plot of swampland from a strip mall developer. The holders of the other winning ticket, however, are Bode Gazzer and his sidekick, Chubb, who want the whole $28 million. Afire with paramilitary fervor, Bode and Chubb need the cash to bankroll the start-up of the White Clarion Aryans before NATO takes over America with a handicapped parking sticker scam. They steal JoLayne's ticket, but before they can cash it she mounts a hot pursuit with the help of local journalist Tom Krome. As they chase Bode and Chubb through the swamps and sleazy dives, dodging bullets and local religious fanatics, Tom and JoLayne leave a wake of mayhem and hilarity. This is Hiaasen at his wacky best

Grange, Florida, is famous for its miracles-the weeping fiberglass Madonna, the Road-Stain Jesus, the stigmata man. And now it has JoLayne Lucks, unlikely winner of the state lottery.Unfortunately, JoLayne's winning ticket isn't the only one. The other belongs to Bodean Gazzer and his raunchy sidekick, Chub, who believe they're entitled to the whole $28 million jackpot.
The climax explodes with the hilarious mayhem that is Carl Hiaasen's hallmark. Lucky You is his funniest, most deliriously gripping novel yet.

A humorous and sophisitcated crime novel, very funny.
JoLayne is thrilled to win the lottery! However, there is another winning Lotto ticket, and the other winners don't like to share! JoLayne's ticket is stolen, so she and a newpaperman go to track'em down! Getting rich quick is never easy...!
"A Thurber-esque carnival of characters...It's lovely to sit back and chuckle with these toothless bad guys and watch Hiaassen put the "k" back in Waco and make a bunch of post-Oklahoma City militiamen so incompetently lovable." -The Times (London)

good story, good to kick back & relax with.
My favorite author!!!
Laugh out loud funny! Because of this book, I plan to read everything he's written!
Two small-time crooks try to double their lottery winnings by stealing the other winning ticket. But they don't count on the feisty former owner pursuing them relentlessly, accompanied by a newspaper reporter who has just junked his job and is still trying to junk his not-quite-ex wife.
High Florida style humor.
i liked this one even better than skinny dip which was his first book i read. i love his dry sense of humor and improbable characters. i highly recommend this book.
