Catherine Anderson continues the Family of Paxton. David's story is a sweet one. I noticed someone before me didn't rate this one as high as some of her other books. Maybe this one doesn't have alot of action and sexual heat but when I read a book that makes me laugh out loud, tear up and just sigh because of the sweetness, I feel it's a great read. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I think the story shows us sometimes God does take the impossible and turn it into a blessing. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I think I might have enjoyed this more if I had started at the beginning of the series. Not knowing the characters and feeling that the plot is kind of far-fetched make this one I'm not keeping. It's a long (over 400 pages) sweet Western if that is what you like.

David Paxton receives mail from a woman he doesn't remember, telling him to come to get her and their child. When the child sends a letter saying that she is eating from trash cans, David is moved to do something about it; he travels to Denver to see if there is another David Paxton involved.

When he finds that there is no other David Paxton, he goes to see how it is that he would have managed to sire a child and not have remembered the mother. Even though Brianna assures David that he is not the father, David tells her that Daphne is the spitting image of his mother and claims paternity.

This is a different kind of story. The first half was slow going; about the middle of the story, things picked up and the story grabbed me.
