This book is a gem: Gently insightful and a bit thought provoking. For anyone interested in the Impressionists or even those just looking to understand human frailty and strength this short read will leave its mark.

This is a fictional story of Mary Cassatt's sister . It is based on facts about her life. It is a quick read and fairly entertaining especially if you enjoy the work of American Impressionist Mary Cassatt.

Really enjoyed this book. Even though it's a fictionalized account of the relationship between Lydia and Mary Cassatt, it seems so real and so authentic.

A brief, fictional account of the relationship of the Cassatt sisters as Lydia posed for paintings by her sister Mary.

This is such a luminous book! Whenever I get a new book, I always read the first paragraph -- with this book I found that I could not stop reading it at that point and just kept on going until I finished it. The writing just sparkles! It is also a book that can be read on many levels; it is a book about the relationship between sisters, it is a book about the process of creating art -- in this case, the Impressionist art of Mary Cassatt, the main character's sister, and it is a book about saying goodbye -- as Lydia Cassatt is dying of Bright's disease. This book is just a gem and I recommend it strongly!
