Interesting book that examines the media hype over the skinny supermodel, and the effect this has on girls and women. I would say this is written in a very friendly tone that would suit teens as well as adults. There is also a good chapter on boys and men. They could profit from reading the rest of the book as well, in my opinion. And it reads fast, so not to worry about non readers, it seems to have been written with them in mind too; an excellent feature of such a book.
My one quibble is their specific choices of what suits as an alternative example of a strong woman might have been better chosen. They use female leaders of such groups as PETA and a magazine for women whose name I would not encourage my girls to say or read. If you lean more liberal, then this book would work. Much of it works for every woman or girl anyway.
